The Manager assists the Director in directing a team of senior consultants and consultants in helping clients identify and claim R&E [commonly known as Research and Development (R&D)] tax credits and then assists the R&E Director and/or Sr. Manager in defending those credits when necessary in the context of an audit by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and/or state tax authorities. The Manager will diagnose, develop, and implement solutions for client tax needs. The Manager will also direct tax research, formulate tax plans, train new staff employees, senior consultants and consultants, and perform tax reviews.

Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of R&D tax credit studies for accuracy and completeness.
- Support quality control for cost segregation, §179D, and §45L studies.
- Assist in developing review protocols and training materials.
- Maintain a small book of studies to stay technically sharp.
- Participate in client calls and provide technical support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in federal tax incentives, especially R&D credits.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation standards.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
Senior Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead QA/QC efforts across multiple study types including R&D, cost segregation, §179D, and §45L.
- Develop and maintain standardized review protocols and training materials.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
- Maintain a small book of studies to stay engaged in service delivery.
- Support client engagements and audit defense when required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree; CPA, JD, or advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in federal tax incentives with QA/QC responsibilities.
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Strong technical writing and review skills.
Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee QA/QC strategy and execution across the Federal Income Tax Incentives practice.
- Ensure consistency and quality across global delivery teams.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve scalable QA/QC systems.
- Maintain a small book of studies to stay technically engaged.
- Represent QA/QC in client presentations and business development efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree; CPA, JD, or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in federal tax incentives with strategic QA/QC oversight.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and technical review skills.
- Experience working with global teams and scalable systems.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required.
Work Environment:
- Standard indoor working environment.
- Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
- Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone.
- Travel requirement: Up to 30 to 50%.
