Manager, Sales Enablement & Learning Strategy

Responsibilities:

  • Manages staff. Provides guidance, training and motivation as necessary to develop staff. Hires, evaluates and counsels personnel. Follows corporate disciplinary procedures per established Vanguard standards as required. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, provides feedback, and recommends wage increases in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

  • Partners with senior leadership to execute the division's sales strategy and drive performance within the sales organization

  • Manages the cultural adoption plan and sales resources and works to drive a sales culture across the organization.

  • Ensure all sales collateral (e.g., curriculum, sales content, playbooks, toolkits) is accurate, compliant, usable, effective and easily findable

  • Own and govern the curriculum and content roadmap: define priorities, assess impacts and feasibility, manage sequencing and delivery timelines; ensure roadmap is current, visible, accurate and aligned to Distribution priorities

  • Manage intake and backlog for curriculum and content function: prioritize requests, enforce governance, and communicate tradeoffs and risks to stakeholders and partners

  • Drive cycle time and speed to market: monitor and enforce delivery timelines, escalate delays and lead process improvement efforts

  • Oversee usability testing: validate effectiveness and usability of curriculum and collateral prior to release; incorporate feedback from key stakeholders (e.g. sales crew, leaders, trainers, coaches)

  • Collateral Audits: Lead regular audits (e.g. quarterly) to retire outdated material, maintain refresh cadence, and eliminate duplication

  • Own content operation standards: taxonomy, tagging, indexing, version control, and integration with systems (e.g. Learning Management Systems, SharePoint, Seismic)

  • Ensure intuitive navigation and findability of sales collateral resources across all platforms; drive asset adoption and usage

  • Streamline approval process for curriculum and content deliverables; partner with stakeholders to ensure alignment and regulatory compliance  (e.g., Compliance, Legal, Risk, Central Supervision, Registered Principal approvals, Methodology, Product, Marketing, Sales Leadership)

  • Provide regular updates to sales leadership and key stakeholders on in flight assets, delivery timelines, and adoption metrics and outcomes.

  • Proactively escalate risks and manage mitigation strategies (e.g., asset non-compliance, usability concerns, missed delivery timelines, key person risk)

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

 

Skills

  • Deep expertise in curriculum strategy, instructional and collateral design, and adult learning theory

  • Strong operational leadership in cycle time reduction, delivery accountability, and process optimization

  • In-depth knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards in financial services

  • Proven experience managing full collateral lifecycle: design, review, approval, deliver, refresh, and retirement

  • Proficiency in content management and enablement platforms (e.g., Degreed, Seismic, SharePoint)

  • Skilled in usability testing, adoption measurement, and collateral effectiveness analysis

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; proven ability engaging senior stakeholders and driving cross functional alignment

  • Clear and effective communicator with a focus on delivery transparency and timeline management

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years related work experience. Previous people leadership experience required. 

  • Prior experience in a sales organization preferred. 

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.

  • This job requires a regulatory license and/or registration (e.g. FINRA, state, SFC). These will be determined by Compliance based on role-specific duties.
