DESCRIPTION:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for managing a QA team to ensure production
of merchandise meets the established standards of Disney quality including reliability, usability,
integrity and performance. The manager also needs to work on specific project managing product
quality and does trouble shooting with suppliers, collaborates with internal project partner and
provides technical support to resolve all quality issues occurred. The QA manager assists his/her
leadership to enhance QA function and fulfill the deliverable of him/herself and his/her team;
support QA work for managed global suppliers, improve factory quality control system, strive for
constructive initiative and development plan to be in line with team’s goal and company strategy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Manage a QA team to support Disney merchandise quality assurance job.
• Develop project plan, manage project schedule and allocate team resource to complete
regional QA work and collaborate with other regional team to maximize the output and deliverable
of QA function.
• Perform quality data analysis and work with management team to develop and enhance quality
management for Disney global suppliers in APAC, provide technical support for global sourcing
organization.
• Conducts technical audit and identify QC process issue at factory as needed, help supplier to
work on the improvement to mitigate quality risk in production aiming to secure on-time delivery
and high-quality standard to protect Disney brand.
• Drives supplier to work on root cause analysis and corrective action; develop, recommend and
monitor correction and preventive action in regards to production quality improvement. Review
and validate the implementation throughout issue closure.
• Conducts and carries out onsite inspection for finished products to ensure production quality
meets Disney standards.
• Manage a 3rd party consultant to perform inspection for Disney product, monitor and leverage
3rd party consultant’s service to assist Disney QA team in general product quality control.
• Supports leadership to manage the deliverables of the development of short and long-term
strategies for managed suppliers, setting priorities, objectives, and action plans to mitigate risk
with measurable accountability.
• Provides quality training to factory for continuous manufacturing process optimization and
quality management system improvement.
• Co-works closely with internal and external partners for quality communication and problem
solving, host meeting with cross function teams and build up good relationships and mutual trust
at work.
• Engages from early design review through sample development from manufacturability
perspective, provide QC inputs, suggestions and solutions to internal and external teams to
mitigate quality risk in mass production.
• Travels domestically and internationally to our managed suppliers for quality management
tasks.
• Participates in QA program and/or quality improvement initiatives to reduce finished product
rejects/complaints, support management team to achieve supplier quality performance targets
and quality improvement goals.
CORE SKILLS:
• Reports out and consults with Senior Manager, QA to make appropriate recommendations and
develop plan for quality improvement and corrections for suppliers.
• Have direct people management experience.
• Solid knowledge of production process and quality control system at factory
• Attention to details and good data analysis skill
• Establishes and nurtures critical internal and external partnerships and alliances.
• Possess strong quality assurance methodology, problem solving and decision making skills
• Communication proficiency and organized reporting ability
• Acts with good business acumen and integrity
• Holds self-accountable to high performance standards
• Collaborates and support internal team as needed to accomplish assigned tasks/projects
• Good in English communicate (oral and listening), with comprehensive English writing and
reading at work.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 3 years of team management experience
• 10 years of quality related work experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/education combination
• Consumer product or industry-specific experience
• Prior experience in multinational environment is a plus
• Good computer skill including Microsoft Office and databases is a plus
• Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements globall
