Job Summary
The Manager, Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) is responsible for leading EHSS programs within the division to ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant operation across a multi-site manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations, supports practical sustainability improvements, and drives continuous improvement in overall safety performance.
Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining a comprehensive safety management system, conducting hazard assessments, overseeing environmental compliance and reporting, implementing resource efficiency and waste reduction measures, and supporting incident investigations. The EHSS Manager also develops and delivers employee training programs and fosters a behavior-based safety culture that emphasizes proactive risk identification and safe work practices.
Essential Functions
- Align EHS&S strategies with organizational goals in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Develop and implement safety programs, training, and emergency preparedness initiatives.
- Promote a behavior-based safety culture through employee engagement, observation programs, and proactive coaching.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations and internal policies.
- Lead incident reporting and root cause analysis for accidents and near misses.
- Conduct safety audits, equipment risk assessments, and ergonomic evaluations; implement corrective actions.
- Guide safety committees and teams across sites.
- Integrate EHS&S considerations into facility design and manufacturing processes.
- Monitor and prepare for emerging climate regulations, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions reporting.
- Maintain industry knowledge to anticipate regulatory changes and drive proactive compliance.
- Lead sustainability initiatives focused on resource efficiency, waste reduction, and environmental impact.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and provide training on PPE requirements.
- Oversee EHS&S site personnel, budgets, and continuous improvement projects.
- Builds a high-performing team through recruiting, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Drives talent development by ensuring timely reviews, growth plans, and identifying high-potential employees.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required in the field of study: Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health preferred.
- At least five years of occupational health and safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required (typically 10+

- Extensive knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental health and safety regulations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Demonstrated independent judgment, collaborative leadership, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Must be able to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals.
- Ability to influence all levels of the organization in developing and sustaining a behavior-based safety culture.
- Proven experience creating procedures and building the structure of a safety management system that can be sustained and enhanced over time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct training and effectively present technical information.
- Highly organized with strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong cross-functional team leadership skills with the ability to drive change, influence others, and foster a culture of safety.

The annual salary for this position is:
$95,000.00 to $125,000.00
