This delivery role provides the opportunity to grow your innovation, management, strategy, and sales skill sets. Partnering with clients to anticipate their needs and deliver on their key priorities is at the heart of this role. You will lead delivery on projects, manage day-to-day tasks and project milestones, and support the development of staff. This role will also involve some business development and offering development, in partnership with practice Principals and other IQVIA teams. Potential projects may include evidence generation strategy, medical patient journey, retrospective or prospective study design and execution, thought leadership network identification, and more.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead teams in the design, development, and delivery of projects. Responsibility for project strategy, methodology design & approach, and ensuring the project delivers high levels of quality/added value. Works with Principals in the management of complex projects.
  • Manage day-to-day engagement with our clients and ensure the project team achieves efficient and effective project delivery.  
  • Provides a high level of input to, and ensures the development of, client reports and presentations and delivers all or significant portions of findings to client(s).
  • Serve as a Medical Affairs and solutions-based expert, internally and externally, by applying consultative problem-solving skills. The Manager will work with practice Principals and other IQVIA teams to strengthen the Manager’s Medical Affairs and consulting expertise.
  • Proactively strengthen medical and therapeutic subject matter expertise through on-the-job experience, participation in conferences and symposiums, and other forums for professional knowledge sharing.
  • Formal and informal coaching responsibility for junior team members. May have line management responsibility over time.
  • Proactively mentor, coach, and share subject matter expertise with others to elevate our capabilities and deliver world class solutions for clients.
  • Support Principals in managing business development, including proposal preparations and/or modifications including overall bid integrity.
  • Seek out and discuss new revenue opportunities at existing clients, ensuring a continuous flow of business from client engagements.
  • Work with senior Medical Affairs Strategy staff, Practice Leaders, and/or subject matter experts to develop offerings.

Desired Experience & Specialized Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred. 
  • 8+ years’ experience within medical affairs or related areas within the pharmaceutical, healthcare consulting, or related industry.
  • Strong understanding in one or more of the following medical affairs domains: clinical development, study design, patient care, real world data (medical and pharmacy claims, EMR data, etc.), HCP engagement by life sciences companies. Expertise in domains adjacent to medical affairs, such as regulatory or pharmacovigilance, would also be considered.
  • Experience leading project teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Possesses strong project delivery skills and ability to translate past success into new opportunities with clients.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the fundamental processes of business including revenue expectations, their interaction, and the impact of external/internal influences on decision making and growth.
  • Strong leadership, client engagement, strategic thinking, and consultative skill set and the ability to manage complex relationships and juggle priorities.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills including presentations, chairing meetings, workshop facilitation, proposal and report writing.
  • Knowledge of consulting methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Works effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals.
  • Some travel may be required (25%).

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $102,200.00 - $284,700.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
