This is a fully onsite role based at our Global Central Lab in Highland Heights, KY, a suburb of Cincinnati, OH We welcome applicants from all locations within the US. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this position, and any relocation costs will be the responsibility of the candidate.

Discover Impactful Work:

Manages a large team and provides oversite of the daily operations for the department, ensuring efficiency and execution of customer service for the investigator sites. Serves as operational liaison between the sites and other functional groups within the lab network. Ensures a high level of support, service, reliability and availability to external site coordinators and internal departments. Manages team workload and assists with key performance indicator matrices to surface inefficiencies and assist in providing solutions.

A Day in the Life:

  • Manages staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations. Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime.
  • Manages the appropriate staffing levels to meet business and client needs. Manages the day-to-day activities of the department to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for the software used within the department.
  • Ensures all aspects of site deliverables meet client needs (kits, manuals, instruction sheets, etc.)
  • Manages department processes, training and SOPs to improve service and efficiency within the department. Assesses and implements new training for new hires and/or process changes.
  • Contributes to the development of user requirements for improving and enhancing services.
  • Actively assists during sponsor audits and supports audit readiness.
  • Supports the team leads and acts as a backup to for the management team.

Keys to Success:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).

1+ year of leadership responsibility

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
