MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER II
Manufacturing Production Process Engineering focuses on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods including: •Designing arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure most efficient and productive layout •Designing the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapting machinery in response to factory conditions
•Conducting tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting/solving production problems
• Providing guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques
•Ensuring that production processes and procedures are following regulations.
Supervises and is responsible for all phases of manufacturing improvement projects, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost. Implements process improvements to meet quality standards, perform feasibility studies and solves problems. Incumbents in this job family are typically responsible for directing and guiding the work of teams and/or individuals. Typically, incumbents would be responsible for performance reviews, pay reviews, and may have hire/fire decision making authority. In limited instances, incumbents in this management job level category may also be responsible for a functional area and not have people reporting to them. There are different levels available that provide clarity on contribution expectations based on knowledge, application, problem solving, impact, collaboration, and supervision.
• Manages activities of a section within a department, sometimes through subordinate supervisors; typically also manages a team of Professional-level associates
• Plant Leader with responsibility for a workforce <200 associates
• Provides measurable input into the development of new products, processes, standards, or business plans that will have direct impact on overall department results
• Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing processes, projects, and tactics within a discipline
• Communicates regularly with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers
• Interaction normally involves matters between functional areas
• Interaction normally involves matters between sister facilities and upper engineering management
