All brands strategy, product development and innovation are led and driven by certain PVH affiliates in the US with respect to products under the Calvin Klein, and Tommy Hilfiger sold in NA, Asia and SA; and in the Netherlands with respect to products bearing the Tommy Hilfiger Europe, Calvin Klein Europe with respect and sold in the Asia region. The position in this job description helps the above mentioned PVH related parties meet their operating and strategic needs.
Product focus is including but not limited to men’s and women’s knit, woven, sweater, denim, outerwear and tailoring.
Lead the technical development of assigned product categories, ensuring alignment with brand standards and global fit consistency. Collaborate closely with Global Technical teams and cross-functional Hub partners to drive innovation, efficiency, and quality in product execution.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead and mentor Garment Technicians by sharing advanced fit knowledge, best practices in SOP adherence, effective communication, and time management strategies.
- Oversee the accuracy and clarity of fitting comments in Centric, ensuring alignment with brand standards and cross-functional expectations.
- Evaluate garment construction and quality with a proactive approach to risk identification, testing requirements, and proposing commercially viable alternatives.
- Ensure design intent is maintained across all base sizes from 1st Fit through to PP Approval, escalating concerns with actionable solutions to Technical and Design teams.
- Partner closely with Hub Sourcing and vendors to manage sample T&A, facilitating timely communication and resolution of development issues.
- Monitor and assess internal and external SOPs annually, ensuring relevance and alignment with evolving business needs; initiate updates with key stakeholders as needed.
- Coordinate and support vendor accreditation programs for PP and Fit Approval, including identifying suitable programs and allocating styles accordingly.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with vendors and cross-functional teams to drive alignment and efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional communications, sharing technical insights to support better decision-making and alignment across teams.
- Actively contribute to projects aimed at developing new SOPs and enhancing best practices across the technical function.
- Lead the technical development of assigned product categories, ensuring alignment with brand standards and global fit consistency.
- Collaborate with Global Technical teams and cross-functional partners to drive innovation, efficiency, and quality in product execution.
- Mentor and guide Garment Technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in fit, construction, and risk mitigation.
- Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges, balancing design intent, cost, and manufacturability.
- Support the Manager in implementing best practices, tools, and processes to enhance team performance and product excellence.
- Coordinate vendor accreditation programs and allocate styles for PP and Fit Approvals.
- Contribute to the creation and refinement of SOPs and technical libraries to streamline workflows and ensure consistency.
DECISION MAKING
- Oversee and optimize work allocation cross internal teams and external vendor partners, ensuring balance workload and timely execution.
- Lead resolution of complex issues related to pattern discrepancies and grading, providing clear justification and technical solutions to vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Make informed decision on sample approval, pattern construction, fit outcomes, and quality standard, ensuring alignment with brand expectation.
- Evaluate and implement process improvement or technical innovations that deliver measurable benefits to the brand and company, with a focus on efficiency, quality, and scalability.
RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of technical libraries, fit blocks, and construction standards to enhance product consistency, streamline workflows, and reduce duplication of effort.
- Provide proactive guidance and coaching to team members and vendors, ensuring seamless workflow integration and alignment with technical standards.
- Identify and implement process enhancements that leverage digital tools and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration across teams.
- Act as a key contributor in cross-functional initiatives aimed at optimizing product development through creative problem-solving and technical innovation.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Technical Design, Apparel Engineering, Pattern Grading, or a related field.
- 7–9 years of progressive experience in garment technical development, with a strong foundation in fit, construction, and pattern engineering.
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions, mentor junior team members, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Proficiency in PLM systems (e.g., Centric), Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Office; experience with 3D fitting tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of garment fitting, pattern engineering, grading, construction techniques, and testing protocols across multiple product categories.
- Proven experience in supervising and mentoring junior team members, with a focus on technical development and performance growth.
- Specialized knowledge in denim, outerwear and tailoring is a strong advantage.
- Strong technical understanding of sewing methods, stitch applications, and garment construction details.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to proactively resolve issues and streamline processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset that fosters team cohesion and cross-functional alignment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and align across departments and vendor partners.
- Skilled in live model fittings and vendor guidance on manufacturability and construction feasibility.
- Proficient in Lectra and PLM systems (e.g., Centric), with a strong command of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus
