Manager, Hardware Offensive Security - Silicon Architecture

We are now looking for a Hardware Offensive Security Manager – for Silicon Architecture!

NVIDIA is seeking a highly skilled Hardware Offensive Security Manager to lead a specialized team focused on research and penetration testing of silicon-level security architectures. This role is critical to ensuring the resilience of NVIDIA’s hardware platforms against advanced threats. You will drive offensive security strategies, uncover vulnerabilities in hardware designs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen security at the architectural level.

What you'll be doing:

Lead Offensive Security Research:

  • Develop and implement advanced penetration testing methodologies targeting silicon and hardware security features.

  • Identify and exploit vulnerabilities in chip-level security mechanisms, including cryptographic engines, secure boot, and trusted execution environments.

Security Architecture Assessment:

  • Analyze and challenge security assumptions in hardware architecture designs.

  • Provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks and improve resilience against physical and side-channel attacks.

Collaboration & Influence:

  • Work closely with architecture, design, and verification teams to integrate security standards early in the development lifecycle.

  • Partner with internal and external security researchers to stay ahead of emerging threats and attack vectors.

Thought Leadership:

  • Publish research findings internally and contribute to industry standards for hardware security.

  • Mentor team members and foster a culture of offensive security excellence.

What we need to see:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience (Ph.D. preferred).

  • 8+ overall years of experience in hardware security, silicon architecture, or penetration testing.

  • 2+ years of leadership experience.

Deep understanding of:

  • Microarchitecture and SoC design principles.

  • Hardware security primitives (secure boot, key management, cryptographic accelerators).

  • Side-channel attacks, fault injection, and reverse engineering techniques.

  • Proven track record of leading offensive security projects in hardware environments.

  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python, or assembly for embedded systems.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with FPGA prototyping and hardware emulation platforms.

  • Familiarity with post-quantum cryptography and secure hardware enclaves.

  • Contributions to security research communities or published papers in hardware security.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD.
