Manager, Global Events (APAC)

Labcorp is seeking an experienced Manager, Global Events for our APAC region to join our Global Marketing organization. This position is office-based in Shanghai and reports directly to the Senior Manager, Global Events (based in the U.S.), with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Senior Director, APAC Marketing in Shanghai.

The Global Events Manager is part of our Marketing organization and is responsible for leading the end-to-end strategy, planning, and execution of external-facing events that enhance brand visibility and support business growth. Events include Labcorp’s presence at industry trade shows and the ancillary engagements that take place alongside major conferences, such as symposia, client receptions, executive meetings, and branded activations. This role involves managing a global event calendar, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors, overseeing budgets, and ensuring alignment with marketing and sales objectives. Success in this position requires strong project management skills, creativity, and the ability to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences across various formats and scales that reflect the Labcorp brand. Ideal candidates will be proactive, detail-oriented, and highly skilled in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive conversations and collaborate closely with marketing and sales leadership to identify opportunities for brand activations, sponsorships and other opportunities within the life sciences industry
  • Responsible for all aspects of project management of assigned marketing events from planning through execution, including but not limited to:
    • Manage day-to-day operations and annual event calendar
    • Coordinate with 3rd party show organizers, venues and suppliers
    • Collaborate with internal functions (finance, compliance, legal, etc.) and cross-functional sales and marketing teams to ensure all components are delivered on schedule
    • Implement standard operating procedures and best practices
    • Develop run of show, programming and event schedules
    • Manage event logistics and internal communications
    • Lead onsite execution, train booth staff and liaise with vendors
    • Develop, manage and reconcile event budgets
    • Design and implement onsite staffing plan
    • Track and report on KPIs
  • Align event design and execution to strategic business goals and objectives
  • Bring executional expertise to each program and identify innovative approaches to improve event planning efficiency and impact
  • Develop and author key communication deliverables including event overviews, post event recaps, case studies, and recommendations to stakeholder-ready status
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirments:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of progressive project leadership, or 8+ years of direct experience in event management and meeting planning
  • Solid experience in managing events in China and Japan’s healthcare industry, with experience in the drug development sector as a strong plus.
  • Experience in managing events in Australia, India, or Singapore is a plus.
  • Native Mandarin speaker with strong fluency in both written and spoken English; Japanese language skills are a plus.
  • Experience in medical diagnostics, pharmaceutical R&D, clinical development, life sciences and/or healthcare industry is strongly preferred
  • Working experience with event management and lead capture technology
  • CMP or CMP-HC preferred
  • CTSM a plus

Native Mandarin speaker with strong fluency in both written and spoken English; Japanese language skills are a plus.

Ability to travel internationally (up to 25% annually) and work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends

Solid experience in managing events in China and Japan’s healthcare industry, with experience in the drug development sector as a strong plus.

Experience in medical diagnostics, pharmaceutical R&D, clinical development, life sciences and/or healthcare industry is strongly preferred

Experience in managing events in Australia, India, or Singapore is a plus.
