A day in the life of a Field Visual Merchandising Manager at VF looks a little like this.
The Field Visual Merchandising Manager is a dynamic, field-based leader responsible for bringing brand storytelling to life across VF retail stores, Vans, The North Face, and Timberland. This role blends creative execution with strategic coaching, ensuring that every store delivers an elevated, on-brand consumer experience.
Spending the majority of time in stores, this leader champions visual merchandising standards, drives campaign execution, and builds team capability. Partnering closely with Store Managers, District Managers, and Regional Visual Merchandising teams, the Field VM Manager ensures that global and regional strategies are translated into compelling, localized execution that fuels consumer engagement and commercial success.

Lead Visual Execution Across Retail Stores: Travel extensively (4+ days/week) to retail locations to implement seasonal floorsets, windows, and brand campaigns, adapting directives to store-specific layouts and inventory levels.
Coach Store Leaders in Visual Excellence: Train and mentor Store Managers and in-store teams on visual merchandising principles, directive interpretation, and campaign storytelling to build long-term capability and consistency.
Partner with Field Leadership: Collaborate with District Managers to align visual execution with business goals, ensuring stores deliver a cohesive and elevated brand experience.
Drive Brand Presentation: Ensure each brand’s identity is reflected through thoughtful product placement, fixture usage, and visual storytelling that resonates with customers.
Support Key Retail Initiatives: Lead visual merchandising efforts for store openings, remodels, and high-priority activations, setting the standard for brand presentation and execution.
Provide Real-Time Feedback and Support: Offer immediate coaching and feedback during store visits, helping teams make adjustments and improve execution on the spot.
Document and Share Insights: Capture high-quality visuals of completed setups, document compliance, and share trends and insights with cross-functional partners to inform future planning.
Multi-Brand Expertise: Flex across Vans, TNF, and Timberland retail environments, adapting to diverse aesthetics and merchandising strategies while maintaining brand integrity.
Field Leadership and Influence: Serve as a key liaison between marketing and store teams, ensuring directives are clearly understood, effectively implemented, and continuously improved.

Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles and how they translate into consumer engagement and commercial success.

Operational excellence mindset, with experience developing and implementing scalable processes, tools, and standards.
Analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to interpret field insights and performance data to inform future direction.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate vision and feedback.
Creative problem-solving abilities, especially in dynamic, fast-paced retail environments.
Experience working across multiple brands, ideally within apparel, footwear, or lifestyle categories.
There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.
Experience with global brand environments and translating global strategies into local execution.
Familiarity with visual merchandising training programs and capability-building initiatives.
Proficiency in visual planning tools or retail execution platforms.
Background in creative direction or brand storytelling through visual presentation.

Hiring Range:
$60,000.00 USD - $75,000.00 USD annuallyIncentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
