  • Salary HEW 9 ($135,978 - $145,693) + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements
  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work at other campuses

About the Role

As the Manager, Facilities & Technical Services - Digital Production, you will lead and inspire your teams supporting digital production across the College of Design and Social Context to deliver efficient, service centric and high quality digital support to enable teaching and learning, research and engagement outcomes, enabling the wide diversity of digital work and study that the College provides.

Your role will provide technical expertise and oversight of digital production facilities and equipment across the College, informing strategic decisions and pathways for the College when considering future digital technologies.

You will set clear expectations, monitor performance against strategic and operational priorities, and provide coaching and feedback to drive excellence in service delivery. At the same time, you will foster an inclusive and engaging work environment where staff feel valued, supported, and empowered to contribute their best, while actively encouraging cross-School collaboration to strengthen connections across the College and University.

Central to your role will be guiding the team through change and continuous improvement, embedding RMIT’s values and leadership standards in everyday practice. You will oversee professional development and workforce planning to build capability, resilience, and adaptability, while ensuring compliance and consistency across policies, systems, and processes.

Through regular operational updates and leadership insights provided to the Associate Director, you will inform decision-making and advocate for both service excellence and the wellbeing of your team.

To be successful for this position, you’ll have:

  • Significant leadership, people, services and equipment management skills in an educational setting, preferably with a team of technical staff. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with agility and resilience to respond to a dynamic environment and changing learning, teaching, research and engagement requirements. 
  • Proven technical knowledge and expertise in digital production across a range of creative disciplines, including but not limited to, advertising, communication and writing, music, sound and audiovisual, screen and media, digital design, digital media, games and animation.
  • Proven high level communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across school leadership, academic teams, professional staff, students and external partners to ensure equitable service and support to achieve learning, teaching, research and engagement outcomes. 
  • Significant knowledge of and demonstrated operationalisation of HSW regulations and processes as relevant to this role
