Job Description:
The Manager, Event Planning & Engagement plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering exceptional experiences across corporate events, conferences, meetings, and internal engagement activities for Finance colleagues. Reporting to AVP, Finance Business Management and Early Talent, you’ll lead end-to-end planning and execution, ensuring alignment with business priorities. The role calls for strong project management skills, creativity, and the ability to work closely with Finance leaders, stakeholders, and external partners to foster a sense of community within the Finance organization.
No matter where you work at TD you’ll make a meaningful impact, grow your skills and thrive in our culture of care. You'll be responsible for planning and executing a wide range of events for Finance, including conferences, Townhalls, Social events and networking activities. Your work will include:
Developing and delivering event plans, including logistics, timelines, and budgets
Leading the planning, coordination, and execution of colleague engagement & corporate events and internal engagement initiatives
Support the ongoing Colleague Engagement strategy
Working with internal stakeholders to define event objectives, scope, and success measures
Managing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and compliance with budget and quality standards
Overseeing venue selection, catering, AV requirements, and on-site coordination
Building digital elements into event experiences, including hybrid and virtual platforms
Negotiating contracts, reviewing clauses, and managing risk with both internal and external stakeholders
Overseeing event intake process, monitoring event performance and preparation of post-event reports with actionable insights
Ensuring events reflect TD’s brand values and support a positive colleague and customer experience

Experience & Soft Skills:
Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to think about the big picture while simultaneously executing on the details
Proven ability to execute with speed and impact, with a track record of delivering results-oriented programs and initiatives
Proven track record of managing large-scale corporate events and delivering exceptional attendee experiences
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including working with senior leaders
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight timelines
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality or related field, preferred but not required
5+ years of experience in event planning and management, preferably in a corporate environment
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in event management software and tools; experience with virtual event platforms (e.g., Teams and WebEx)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Strong knowledge of budgeting and financial reconciliation for events
Familiarity with project management methodologies is an asset
Results-driven, proactive, and adaptable
Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
Skilled at building relationships and influencing stakeholders
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and fostering collaboration across teams
Focused on delivering memorable and meaningful experiences
