Reporting to the Senior Director of Data Engineering and Architecture, the Data Engineering Manager will assist in setting the vision for data engineering, establish best practices, and lead a high-performing team to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative data solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Set strategic direction for data engineering initiatives, aligning with organizational goals and business priorities.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, robust, and reusable data pipelines and architectures.
- Architect and guide the implementation of data warehousing solutions and ETL/ELT processes, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems, establishing policies and governance frameworks.
- Drive data-driven decision-making and innovation across high-impact projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Partner with QA, CloudOps, and other stakeholders to develop test strategies, automate processes, and optimize the DDLC.
- Oversee release planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of data systems and infrastructure.
- Translate business requirements into strategic technical roadmaps and actionable plans.
- Provide expert consultation on evaluating data and software systems, recommending improvements and new technologies.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience leading and managing data engineering teams in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Deep expertise in SQL, Python, Shell scripting, and modern data engineering tools (Snowflake, Boomi, Prefect).
- Strong understanding of ETL, API development, data modeling, and data architecture.
- Proficiency with DevOps tools (GIT, Docker, Jenkins, Octopus) and CI/CD pipeline automation.
- Expert with DBT for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines.
- Working knowledge of Snowflake
- Knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure design and implementation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to set strategic vision, drive execution, and deliver results in a fast-paced organization.
