We’re seeking a skilled Manager, Corporate Communications, to drive impactful storytelling and engagement
About the Role
The Corporate Communications Manager leads the development and delivery of strategic internal and external communications to enhance reputation, support engagement, and ensure timely, accurate information sharing across all channels.
The role works closely with senior leadership and stakeholders from across the University and its entities to drive best-practice communications and foster an informed and connected university community.
Key Accountabilities
Lead strategic direction and execution of internal and external communication strategies aligned with University objectives
Collaborate with senior staff across Marketing, Communications, and University teams to deliver impactful messaging for alumni, donor, industry, and community engagement
Partner with key communications leaders to curate and promote content across media channels, including The Lighthouse and social media
Manage internal communications to foster an informed, connected, and engaged workforce
Maintain strong relationships with senior leadership to deliver coordinated communications that support core operations and thought leadership
Advise on communications strategy and reputational risk, proactively identifying and mitigating potential issues
Lead and develop a high-performing communications team to ensure excellence and protect the University’s reputation
Stay current with best practices in communications and adapt strategies accordingly.
Ensure compliance with EEO and WHS regulations.
Perform other duties as required within the scope of the role.

Selection Criteria:
Extensive experience in a senior corporate or internal communications role, preferably within a complex or higher education environments, with proven success in developing and implementing effective communication strategies tailored to diverse audiences.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated capacity to create engaging, accessible content for multiple platforms and audiences.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, agile and collaborative in approach, with proven ability to build effective relationships with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
Proven experience in change communication and employee engagement strategies, with a strong track record in managing issues and reputational risk communications.
Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities, with a track record of inspiring and developing high-performing teams.
Editorial, digital communications and social media expertise, including leveraging emerging technologies for engagement.
Knowledge of the higher education sector, including the role of universities in research, innovation, and social impact, and experience with student communications is highly desirable.
