Job Description:

Data Risk Management (DRM) is responsible for overseeing and challenging data management activities across the TD footprint. We act as proactive and trusted advisors to TD business lines, supporting an effective risk culture. Reporting to the Senior Manager of AI and Analytics, Data Risk Management, the Manager will support and provide guidance on data risk, particularly in relation to data used in AI and Analytics. This role will support challenging and overseeing data-related AI risk in AI use cases, models and tools ensuring alignment with internal data and AI risk management policies, frameworks, and standards. The Manager will support the current AI landscape and evolving areas such as generative and agentic AI.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development and operationalizing the oversight and challenge methodology in alignment with industry standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Developing procedures and testing protocols to facilitate review and challenge processes for data-related AI risks.
  • Providing effective oversight and challenge on AI risk assessments for AI use cases/models/tools.
  • Interacting with risk and control partners, business segments, corporate functions, and data-centric teams to assess data-related AI controls and risks.
  • Building strong relationships with business segments, corporate function ORM 2A teams and risk functions to integrate data-related AI risk awareness and reporting.
  • Assisting with reporting and monitoring of AI risk, including collection of metrics (KRI/KPI)
  • Exercising sound judgment in identifying, reporting, and escalating risks or issues to senior management as necessary.
  • Working closely with other second line of defense functions to create a clear picture of risks associated with AI/ML, generative AI or Agentic AI use case/models/tools.
  • Staying knowledgeable about emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements to understand their impact on TD Bank and implications for the DRM policy and framework.

Desired Qualifications:

  • University degree (Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field of study preferred) or comparable professional education/training: Graduate degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience in AI governance, risk management, data management or model governance either through education and/or direct experience.
  • Solid understanding of AI technology, data management, data governance, AI development lifecycle, and operational risk.
  • Knowledge of AI and data regulations and industry trends.
  • Working Knowledge of oversight and challenge activities and understanding of 3 Lines of Defense.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), including developing presentations, quality reports, risk memos, standards and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and multiple stakeholders at varying levels.
  • Ability to operate effectively with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment and competing priorities.
  • Curious and proactive learner interested in new technology, ML/AI, risk management, and AI governance best practices.
  • Data or AI management certifications (ex. DCAM, AIGP, DAMA) considered as an asset but not required

Experience & Education:

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or
  • 7+ years relevant experience
