THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians with strong industrial electrical experience to join our team. These roles are based in Tarneit, Melbourne, and will be at the forefront of servicing a brand-new, large-scale automated warehouse for our customer.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major project from the initial installation and commissioning stages through to operational go-live. You will provide high-level technical support, including preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to resolve incidents and breakdowns. You will get to work on industry-leading material handling equipment such as automated storage and retrieval systems, conveyors, racking, and robotics.

Initial working hours: Day shifts, Monday to Friday.

Tasks and Qualifications:

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

  • Trouble-shoot, problem solve, diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
  • Carry out equipment audits and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Electrical fault finding, including replacement of contactors, relays, field devices, etc
  • Programming drives, scanners, electronic control modules
  • Troubleshooting PLCs
  • Lubrication, belt tracking, replacing bearings, chains, belts, motors & gearboxes
  • Undertake training of new technicians and operators (when required)
  • Seek to reduce downtime and improve system reliability
  • Identify operational and equipment improvement opportunities through ongoing investigation and root cause analysis of faults

ABOUT YOU – WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting & problem-solving equipment faults within a maintenance environment
  • Unrestricted Electrical Licence (Victorian A-Grade licence)
  • Trade Qualification: Certificate III - Electrotechnology and above
  • Your own transportation and current Australian driver's license
  • A commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction
  • Be mechanically savvy (experience with maintaining mechanical and pneumatic systems)
  • Industrial controls understanding (PLC's, VFD's, HMI's, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and in a team

The following will also be highly regarded:

  • PLC experience (we can provide training on Siemens S7 and SCADA systems)
  • Sound experience in Microsoft Office and report writing skills
  • Computerised maintenance systems experience (MEX)
  • Experience with automation (conveyors and sortation systems)
