JOB SUMMARY
The experienced Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of equipment and facility systems. Specifically, this position will use technical skills, experience, knowledge, troubleshooting, repairing and updating the assets of the company processes, instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, piping and support systems to ensure functionality and reliability.
Additional areas of responsibilities include preventative and corrective maintenance activities on equipment and buildings (campus) infrastructure. The experienced Maintenance Technician must exhibit a consistent high level of detail and involvement in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality and productivity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
2. Inspect, diagnose and repair industrial machinery and equipment, (electrical and mechanical) as assigned to ensure functional performance, appearance and safe conditions.
3. Maintain, repair and ensure the functionality of the physical plant and associated support systems by performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on structural components such as HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, conduct AC/DC troubleshooting and repairs, hydraulics, pneumatics and other building infrastructure systems.
4. Respond to service requests and troubleshoot issues as necessary and coordinate with team members, vendors or contractors when necessary.
5. Independently read and interpret related technical data to include vendor manuals, P&ID’s (piping & instrumentation drawings) and procedures.
6. Maintain all necessary records on equipment and maintenance.
7. Conform to the standards and regulations of OSHA, state and local building codes, be knowledgeable of NFPA 70E. (Standards for Electrical Safety in the Workplace) (National Fire Protection Association).
8. Work closely with engineering, production, purchasing and other departments as a member of the organizational team.
9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or GED certification.
2. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a maintenance technician or similar.
3. Experienced in the operation of forklifts and motorized lift equipment.
4. Experience in understanding and following of verbal and written instructions accurately, including the reading and interpretation of manufacturer guidelines and governmental regulations.
5. Valid driver’s license required to operate assigned fleet vehicles.
6. Good verbal and written communication skills.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
1. Technical background, vocational school or similar degree or certification preferred.
2. Documented education, training or developed competencies in the areas of industrial maintenance including electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical controls and systems.
3. Programmable Logic Controls (PLC’s) and FANUC Control systems experience helpful.
4. Experience in the operation of small equipment, tractors, and scissor lifts preferred. Snowplow experience a plus.
5. Exposure to or experience/knowledge of eMaintenance programs or similar type of computerized work management systems (CMMS) helpful.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position has pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.
Stand and/or sit for portions of the shift. Move parts (>55 pounds) using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods.
Ability to lift fifty-five pounds (55lbs) or less.
The climbing of ladders and use of stairs.
6. Use of safety and personal protective equipment is mandatory under some conditions. The following may or may not be required.
a. Ear plugs.
b. Safety glasses/Safety shield.
c. Safety toe shoes.
d. TyVek coverall.
e. Respirators.
