Summary:
This position oversees a fast-paced manufacturing environment, for a multi-skilled maintenance department, that ensures operations can meet customer demand with 24/7 coverage.
Regular schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm but must have flexibility to work adjusted hours to cover early morning and night shifts as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within area of responsibility. Support and enforce all plant safety policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Responsible for all job-related safety training for their work team.
- Analyzes production and maintenance reports to resolve operational, manufacturing, quality, and maintenance issues to reduce costs, prevent operational delays and meet production line operational efficiency rates.
- Ensures that maintenance tasks are performed efficiently in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, by setting work priorities, supervising and assisting with repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Provides emergency response including equipment repair, situation stabilization and the mobilizing of resources as needed.
- Prepare, implement and execute actions plans for Safety/Quality/Production issues.
- Verifies and ensures documentation of all repair records, preventive maintenance records and consumption of replacement parts.
- Develops new tools and techniques to improve monitoring and performance of machinery and improve department KPI’s.
- Review POKA at least every other day and update the status on pending action.
- Participates in process improvement teams, 5S & Kaizen events all while promoting teamwork.
- Works with the site planner on scheduled outages and planned maintenance activities.
- Responsible for the safety and training of maintenance staff.
- Conducts specific training for the maintenance staff.
- Supervises select outside contractors.
- Attends and participates in production meetings.
- Accountable for accurate and timely recording of employee attendance and E-time.
- Active participant in and all related lean activities and projects.
- Monitors and minimizes down time, identifies and advocates for improvement opportunities.
- Familiar with the plant food safety programs and basic HACCP principles.
- Be on call if needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of regulatory safety and environmental codes.

- Ability to operate a computer in a Windows-based environment and ability to use most office equipment.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Office Suite products and Enterprise level systems such as SAP.
Minimum Education, Training, & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field required. Preferably Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Background in autonomous maintenance a plus.
Preferred Education, Training, & Experience Requirements:
Minimum three years’ experience in maintenance with a broad base knowledge of electrical and mechanical repair required. Supervisory Experience required.
