Maintenance Planner Scheduler

The Maintenance Planner Scheduler has planning responsibilities for plant maintenance, production support equipment, utilities, and site facilities. They should possess the skills and knowledge to create a job package from a provided work order scope and effectively coordinate contractor support as necessary. They will be responsible for collaborating with the operations specialist and maintenance supervisor to develop a locked weekly maintenance schedule, a 2 through 4 week horizon schedule, gather work accomplishment data and update related metrics.

   

As a Maintenance Planner Scheduler, you will:

  • Develop a planning library for Pd/PMs and common repair tasks.
  • Prepare complete job packages (Labor, Material, Tools & Equipment) by performing field walkdown.
  • Identify potential hazards and plan for requirements to safely execute tasks.
  • Work with technicians to develop plans for complex jobs.
  • Update CMMS with job package information to include repair, service to operations, and predictive/preventive field tasks.
  • Use feedback from maintenance technicians to optimize archived plans.
  • Review work orders for technical completeness and return incomplete work orders to maintenance supervisor.
  • Add job to the maintenance work backlog once planning complete and materials availability has been confirmed.
  • Work with reliability engineer to identify necessary updates to SAP Master data including equipment, functional locations, bill of materials, and maintenance plans.
  • Support maintenance procedure management by performing technical reviews.

General Responsibilities: 

  • Consider constructability and maintainability when developing plans.
  • Consider material costs when selecting materials from specifications.
  • Utilize the most effective technology where applicable.
  • Collect relevant procedures to include in job packages.
  • For scheduling, estimate both time and cost considering technician skill levels.
  • Research and reference all relevant procedures and specifications.
  • Specify materials for requisitioning (parts, cost, delivery deadlines, etc.)
  • Effectively manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Lead Planning & Scheduling meetings.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years’ experience with equipment/facilities maintenance in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in developing job plans for maintenance work in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of piping, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems required to ensure detailed planning packages.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance work in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • Experience with SAP maintenance modules is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and the ability to learn new systems quickly are required.
  • Experience using maintenance information such as work orders, notifications, purchasing records, pipe codes, technical manuals, mechanical and electrical drawings, etc.
  • Proficiency accessing maintenance records from various sources including SAP, Product & Service Index, Documentum Vault, SharePoint, and shared network files.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A self-starter who can identify, prioritize, and accomplish.
  • Have strong problem solving and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire others and lead through influence.
