Are you looking for an exciting new role as a Maintenance Engineer at our Terminal in Cheyenne, WY? In this role, you will be responsible for providing professional engineering guidance to Midstream Production Unit Teams (PUTs) to ensure the reliable and cost-effective operation of production assets through efficient problem definition, repair scoping and field execution support. The span for this role includes up to 14,000 assets and several operating facilities, potentially across multiple Canadian provinces and US states.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Materials or Chemical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) designation or registration as an Engineer in Training (EIT) with a state engineering licensing body
  • Relevant industry related engineering, reliability, maintenance, and operations support experience (expected expertise based on years of experience)
  • Familiarity with business process tools like SAP and Enablon
  • General knowledge of Suncor’s EH&S best practices, policies and regulations
  • Understanding of Suncor and industry and jurisdictional standards and codes (API, ASME, CSA Z662, CCME, ABSA, TSSA, TSBC, RBQ, T-Sask, PHMSA, NFPA, DOT) is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)
  • Strong collaboration skills to effectively resource priorities safely and cost-effectively
  • Ability to recommend actions which mitigate or eliminate risks to acceptable levels
  • Can implement and validate systems, procedures and standards required for excellent safety performance, asset reliability and responsible operations.
  • Demonstrated drive for cost-effectiveness and continuous improvement to generate maximum value
  • Ability to advise maintenance on repair techniques and execution strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver effective troubleshooting, practical repair scoping, cost-effective material and specialized vendor selection, resolution of short-cycle threats to availability, capture of opportunities and long-cycle threats to availability, quality incident investigations, completion of corrective actions, identifying and scoping obsolescence programs, risk assessments (including PHAs and CA&FS studies), and asset performance trending in support of bad actor identification
  • Support the development, execution and sustainment of technical initiatives related to asset performance management which address historical gaps with Suncor’s Operational Excellence Management Systems (OEMS), corporate technical standards and system performance within their assigned Production Unit Team

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Cheyenne Terminal, 1715 Fleischli Parkway, Cheyenne, WY

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs

  • In alignment with Suncor’s value of Safety Above All Else, we conduct pre-employment drug testing, employment verification, education verification, background checks and other pre-employment assessments as a condition of employment

Hourly Rate and Compensation Details: 

  • Salary range: $100,000-$125,000k
