Your key responsibilities

• The candidate will act as a DB2 DBA to provide support to application teams and also help design and develop application code, implement technical solutions, and configure applications in response to business problems. To meet the requirements of the business, the candidate will actively participates in the design and architecture of the application or its components propose appropriate solution to use and promotes re-usability of existing components.
• The candidate will be part of the transformation program of the company and key to internalize the knowledge.
• The candidate should have deep knowledge of systems and applications under him/her control to define their evolution, evaluate the impact of regulations or new business requirements, manage the changes and collaborate in the analysis and implementation of approved projects. Candidate will also participate in the application maintenance tasks.
• The candidates will work on applications based on mainframe technology (DB2 DBA and JCL/Cobol/Cics/MQ, REXX).

Your skills and experience

Position Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Senior Engineer will cover:

• Knowledge internalization
• DBA Admin Tasks, Handling Development support requests, Managing Releases.
• Also Involve Functional design, technical design and programming
• New projects, enhancements and maintenance of a specific for a set of applications
• IT Application Life Cycle standards are met in ongoing enhancements and maintenance
• Application changes are aligned with the application strategy
• Identification and management of risk and issues associated with the application
• Maximum operational availability and stability
• Cost efficiency

People Management

• The candidates must have demonstrated proficiency in working with global and local teams, managing vendors and/or 3rd parties.
• The candidates will be able to work in a collaborative environment, organized in scrum, therefore scrum master experience or scrum working is desirable.

Experience

• 5+ years in development and maintenance of banking business applications.

Education/ Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, IT or similar. Master recommended
• English proficiency required
• Experience and knowledge of banking business and its operations
• Knowledge and experience in systems and end-to-end processes related to financial agents and intermediaries
• Experience as DB2 DBA is must and good to have programming knowledge in  JCL/Cobol/Cics/DB2/MQ, REXX.
• Experience in application solutions from technological perspective. Ability to understand key aspects of technical platforms and infrastructure, generate ideas and create effective solutions
• Solid knowledge of software engineering, design patterns and software architecture
• Development background and demonstrated experience as analyst / technical lead
• Experience on analysis of existing systems from high level architecture to application code review
• Experience with technical documentation, architectural diagram, components, flows, use cases
• Demonstrable DevOps-oriented mind-set
• Experience with testing/QA tools
• Person with solid technical knowledge and able to understand complex business processes and workflows
• Teamwork capacity with multidisciplinary teams
• Leadership and communication skills
• Ability to identify risks, resolve conflicts and plan tasks
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of methodologies in applications development (e.g. Agile)
• Experience as scrum master and knowledge about the entire application development life cycle (planning, budget, approval, sourcing, monitoring and implementation) will be a plus
