Job Description:

We’re one of the world’s largest providers of transportation and logistics services. Our customers range from small and mid-sized companies up to global enterprises.  Our Global Logistics and Distribution business unit provides comprehensive logistics services and warehousing solutions utilizing a global network of distribution centers, innovative technology and supply chain expertise to manage the flow of goods from receiving to storage and order processing to shipment.

Job Summary:

This position works in the UPS Mail Innovations Regional Processing Facility. This role has key responsibilities in supervising operations related to mail receiving, processing, sorting and shipping operations, as well coordinating with facility administrative activities. This position makes decisions based upon broad guidelines, practical experience and sound business judgments. This role is responsible for supervision, training and/or development of facility operations employees and contract staff. This position evaluates problems involving multiple functional areas of mail operations and logistics, while striving to maintain customer retention through sound judgment and effective problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises activities of staff in mail receiving, processing, sorting and shipping operations in a timely, cost-effective manner, consistent with established operations procedures and USPS requirements.

  • Meets or exceeds productivity goals established for mail operations functions.

  • Ensures accuracy of direct mail processing and preparation operations in accordance with USPS requirements, customer requests, and established procedures.

  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships as needed with customer operational staff, applicable USPS staff and vendors.

  • Trains assigned on-site staff and follow-up to ensure work is accurate and complete.

  • Assures operational supplies are on-hand and available at all times.

  • Plans and recommends appropriate staff levels consistent with workload demands.

  • Maintains a clean and orderly environment in all operations areas of the Regional Processing Facility.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all internal systems, procedures, customer data and personnel information.

  • Works with only broad supervision.


Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of mail processing services, systems, procedures and operations equipment

  • Working knowledge of USPS requirements in the preparation of Standard Mail and parcels

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

  • Flexible and adaptive to changing work requirements

  • At least one (1) year management/supervisory experience in a production/processing environment

  • Supervising experience with 3PL

  • Must currently reside in the same geographic location as the job.

Pay Range:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,520.00/year to $96,780.00/year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate’s work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
