The Coughlin Foot & Ankle Orthopedics Clinic is now hiring for a personable and efficient Medical Assistant to work at our clinic located on our Regional Medical Center campus in Boise!

Position Summary & Highlights:

  • This position will support 3 APPS at our clinics located in Boise, Eagle, and occasionally in Caldwell.

  • At Saint Alphonsus Medical Group Podiatry, we specialize in surgical and non-surgical treatment of foot and ankle problems including athletic injuries, fractures, arthritis, deformities, tendinitis, and ingrown toenails.

  • Saint Alphonsus' foot and ankle team includes orthopedic surgeons who specialize in orthopedic foot and ankle surgery. They treat the most common to the most complex cases and is active in clinical medical research, helping improve foot and ankle care for all their patients.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist with procedures, drawing up injections, and wound care.

  • Also assist with casting, splinting, suture removal, and applying dressings.

  • Complete surgery scheduling, prior authorizations, and referrals.

  • The clinic has a collaborative environment, encouraging team members to feel comfortable sharing ideas, feedback, and concerns.

  • The clinic supports open communication and transparency, and all the clinical staff work to support each other to care for all of their patients.

  • They also work hard to have an inclusive team environment. They enjoy potlucks and getting together outside of work for team building when possible.

  • An idea candidate for this position is outgoing, energetic, and likes to work in a busy, fast-paced clinic environment.

  • You also have strong organizational skills, are eager to learn and likes to work in a supportive and strong team-oriented environment!

Work Schedule:

  • 40 hours/week, Mondays – Fridays, typically around the hours of 7:45am – 4:30pm.

  • Shift start and end time may vary based on provider's schedule and clinic needs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.

  • *MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

    • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

    • American Medical Technologists (RMA)

    • National Healthcare Association (CCMA)

    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

    • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)

    • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

    • National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)

  • New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.

  • Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

  • *EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification. Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details.
