This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

We are seeking experienced and innovative Industrial Engineers to optimize and sustain the efficient production of lunar products at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. As vital members of our Lunar Operations team, you will blend hands-on engineering, workforce planning, and program management skills to coordinate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams. Your primary mission is to analyze, design, and improve our production processes—delivering quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness as we enable Blue Origin’s vision of millions living and working in space for the benefit of Earth.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about continuous improvement, skilled in lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and dedicated to supporting cross-functional teams to deliver safe and repeatable flight hardware.

This is a pooling requisition for current and anticipated openings across multiple Lunar teams, shifts, and locations. Candidates will be matched to the right roles as needs are identified.

Position Specific Details:

  • Shift: A Shift | Mon-Fri (6:00am-2:30pm)
  • Location: Space Coast, FL
  • Relocation: Available
  • Potential travel: Up to 10% for training or cross-site support

 Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and design production workflows and processes to elevate efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies to manufacturing operations
  • Collaborate with design and engineering to validate manufacturability and drive product/process improvements
  • Conduct time and motion studies; update build durations and labor requirements in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Perform capacity planning and resource allocation to maximize production output and meet delivery targets
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures and best practices for manufacturing and assembly
  • Monitor and report product performance metrics (producibility, schedule adherence, quality); lead corrective action initiatives
  • Lead risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Capture and share lessons learned and best practices across teams
  • Support and implement program management strategies to execute production plans and solve complex technical challenges

Team Focus & Domain Expertise:

Selected candidates may be routed to one of several core focus areas within the Lunar Manufacturing Operations organization based on skills, business need, and production portfolio, including but not limited to:

  • Manufacturing Process Optimization | Specialize in process mapping, time and motion studies, MES data tracking, and cycle time reduction across assembly lines (e.g., Lunar Lander, Propulsion, Structures, etc.) Drive continuous improvement, lean implementation, and best practice adoption on the shop floor.
  • Capacity Planning & Resource Management | Focus on workforce planning, equipment utilization, and resource allocation. Support scaling production to meet expansion or ramp phases for new vehicle lines, vertical integration, or next-generation components
  • Production Quality & Risk Management | Coordinate process audits, corrective action plans, and preventive risk assessments to ensure safe and compliant operations. Collaborate with quality engineering and program management to monitor build health and maintain schedule/cost adherence.

Note: Candidates will be matched to the most relevant production area, shift, or component line based on current staffing needs, business cycles, and candidate expertise (such as assembly, integration, test, or advanced manufacturing).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace or high-tech preferred)
  • Familiarity with ERP/PLM/MES/MRP systems and enterprise-level production tracking
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Excellent communication skills for both cross-functional collaboration and technical documentation
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with simulation tools (AnyLogic or similar) and/or 3D Modeling (CATIA or similar)
  • Experience with PLM software (Windchill or similar)
  • Familiarity with web-based collaboration/document management (SharePoint or similar)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in time studies, labor utilization planning, and capacity/resource management
  • Demonstrated experience driving process improvements in an aerospace environment

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
