Aging, Disability and Veteran Services (ADVSD) a part of Multnomah County Department of County Human Services (DCHS) is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to provide services as a Receptionist (Office Assistant 2). This recruitment will be open for 7 days or until we receive 150 applications whichever comes first.
The eligible list created from this recruitment may be used to fill future regular, limited duration, full or part time, temporary, or on-call positions at any of our locations.

About the position: As a Receptionist you will be the first point of contact for clients and the public. You will perform clerical and customer service functions and will be cross trained to cover a variety of duties to support team members and serve customers of multiple programs located within the Aging, Disability and Veterans Services, Multnomah County.
Primary responsibilities include:
Greet customers, gather and enter information into multiple computer systems
Manage lobby traffic with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Answer phones and direct callers to appropriate program staff
File and records maintenance, to include scanning and uploading consumers' documents into electronic systems, archive case files, order and maintain forms, brochures, and client announcements/postings/notifications
Maintain and process financial; receive, receipt, record and deposit client payments, order, maintain and issue negotiable.
Maintain work areas, interview rooms and general office equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order
Provide support as need throughout the team, work groups and management
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Patience and compassion when dealing with challenging and emotionally charged situations
Ability to use standard office software and follow standard office procedures

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade; AND
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. (Equivalency 1-4 years of qualifying training and/or experience).
• Must have a valid driver license by time of hire
• Must pass a criminal background check

Type of Position: This hourly union-represented position is eligible for overtime pay.
