Our Retail Operations and Transformation team maintain a strong focus on SAP support, in-store operations, and checkouts across all three retail banners.  Monitoring a range of important metrics, the team are also involved in new store openings, ownership changes, and various business initiatives.
 
Te Tūranga – About the role
As Loss Prevention Manager, you’ll lead the strategy and delivery of security and loss prevention initiatives across Foodstuffs North Island with an initial focus on implementing and managing facial recognition technology (FRT) across all stores.  You’ll also collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop robust solutions that safeguard people, customers, and assets while ensuring compliance with privacy and regulatory standards.
 
To do this you’ll:
·       Develop and execute a loss prevention strategy that aligns with Foodstuffs’ business goals, focusing on deploying facial recognition technology to reduce theft, violence, and other harmful behaviours in stores.
·       Lead the end-to-end rollout of facial recognition systems, overseeing vendor selection, project planning, installation, configuration, and training for store teams.
·       Managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external providers to deliver integrated security solutions.
·       Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of loss prevention technologies and processes, using data and insights to drive continuous improvement and report on key metrics.
·       Ensure compliance with privacy, data protection, and regulatory standards.
·       Develop and deliver training and change management programs for store teams to ensure effective adoption of new technologies and security protocols.
·       Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
·       Work with with law enforcement and industry partners to share intelligence, coordinate responses to organized retail crime, and support prosecution efforts as appropriate.

He kōrero mōu - About you
You’ll have proven experience in loss prevention, security management, or a related field, ideally within retail or FMCG environments. You’ll also have demonstrated success in leading technology-driven security initiatives, including the rollout of facial recognition or similar surveillance systems.
 
You’ll also bring with you:
·       Strong understanding of privacy, data protection, and regulatory frameworks relevant to biometric technologies.
·       Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
·       Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, assess risks, and drive evidence-based decision-making.
·       Experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and audit processes.
·       Project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex, multi-site initiatives on time and within budget.
·       Commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a positive safety and security culture.
