This role provides oversight and strategic direction to a group of Loan Operations team members responsible for all commercial and corporate closing activity, as well as closing, booking, funding and servicing functions within the Commercial Real Estate (“CRE”) portfolio of the bank. This senior level role will have direct responsibility for budget management and will be a stakeholder in the execution of the Bank’s strategic plan as it relates to Loan Operations. This individual will work with line of business leaders and executives to develop support solutions for existing and new products and will work directly with credit and risk partners to ensure proper controls are in place to support the bank’s loan products.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead and manage the Loan Originations team with a strong focus on CRE loan closing and funding operations.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development to team leads and individual contributors, fostering expertise in systems, loan documentation, due diligence, and operational procedures.
Conduct performance evaluations, merit reviews, and manage disciplinary actions and terminations as necessary.
Interview, hire, and onboard new talent, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and culture.
Operational Oversight
Oversee daily workflow and resource allocation to ensure timely and accurate loan closings and funding.
Monitor and enforce adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and service level agreements.
Review and analyze operational reports, including quality control, performance metrics, and exception reports, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Process Optimization & Transformation
Assess current workflows and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Serve as a key stakeholder and change champion in Loan Operations transformation initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and adoption.
Lead enterprise-wide risk assessments related to loan operations, ensuring timely execution and stakeholder engagement.
Risk & Compliance
Maintain deep knowledge of operational risks across the bank, including cross-functional and enterprise-level risks.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal controls related to loan documentation and servicing.
Partner with internal audit, compliance, and risk teams to proactively address findings and implement corrective actions.

Required – minimum of 10 years of commercial lending experience – specific to loan documentation, due diligence and bank agented transactions (commercial real estate loan closing and funding experience preferred).
