Join us as a Legal Counsel Intern to support our Italian and Spanish market operations and help shape Qonto's legal framework in Italy and Spain, in the Paris or Milan office.
You will support Maddalena Malzanni, our Legal Counsel for Italy and Spain, to provide high-quality, risk-focused legal advice across commercial areas and work closely with external law firms and manage administrative tasks to ensure smooth legal operations.

👩‍💻🧑‍💻 As a Legal Counsel Intern at Qonto, you will
• Draft, review, and analyze contractual documentation for new products, such as Pay Later and Tap to Pay.
• Support legal aspects of marketing campaigns, partnerships, and procurement requests for the Italian and Spanish market.
• Assist in conducting legal research and providing insights on Italian and Spanish regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with external law firms and internal teams to ensure smooth legal operations
• Participate in product launches to ensure full compliance with Italian and Spanish banking law
• Reply to customer claims and analyze litigation that might affect Qonto

🤔 What you can expect
• Market/Team Context: You'll be part of Qonto's legal team during an exciting and challenging phase in Italy and Spain, working directly with our Italian and Spanish Legal Counsel on various strategic projects

🤝About your future manager 
You'll work with Maddalena Malzanni, who currently manages legal responsibilities for Qonto's Italian and Spanish market. She brings extensive experience in both product and commercial legal work, handling everything from new product launches to marketing partnerships. Her mentorship approach focuses on providing comprehensive guidance while encouraging gradual autonomy, making this an ideal opportunity for professional growth in fintech law.

🏅 About You
• Education: You have completed your Bachelor's law degree in Italy or Spain. Ideally, you have exposure to both legal systems through a double degree program, Erasmus exchange, or study abroad experience in the other country
• Legal Knowledge: Strong understanding of both Italian and Spanish commercial law, and contract law. Familiarity with banking regulations in Southern European markets is highly valued.
• Language Skills: Native or fluent proficiency in Italian or Spanish, and English
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, practical solutions
• Organization: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively
