CORE JOB SUMMARY                                                                                                                                    

The Leadership Giving Associate reports directly to the Senior Director, Development and indirectly to the Associate Vice President of Unit Development. This role supports the strategy and implementation of an omni-channel, targeted, and donor-centered leadership giving program at the University of Miami.

The Leadership Giving Associate is responsible for the execution of leadership gift fundraising functions for assigned divisions, including the development of solicitation strategies, cultivation and stewardship of donors, and efforts to retain and increase giving levels. This role also contributes to the growth of the major and principal gift prospect pipeline and supports process documentation and program improvement efforts.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                           

Provides professional fundraising services and support to assigned divisions, departments, and centers. Contributes to the development of fundraising budgets and revenue projections. Tracks and monitors the emerging prospect pool and assists with reports to evaluate program outcomes. Supports the development and sustainability of leadership giving programs. Assists in setting benchmarks and strategies to meet revenue and activity metrics. Delivers strategic counsel to colleagues and unit partners regarding leadership gift engagement strategies. Monitors, evaluates, and reports on personal progress and outcomes against assigned goals. Manages a personal portfolio of leadership giving prospects, with established revenue and activity expectations. Partners closely with the Assistant Vice President of PGDI and Associate Vice President of Unit Development to ensure alignment with school, unit, and central priorities. Stays current on best practices and benchmarks from peer institutions to inform program growth and innovation. Utilizes dashboards and reports to track progress and shares updates with internal stakeholders. Ensures compliance with University policies and procedures and contributes to a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                         

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field is required

Certification and Licensing:

Not Applicable

Experience:

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
