As a Workday Integration Lead:
• Lead end-to-end integration design and delivery — including requirements gathering, technical design, development, configuration, validation, and deployment of Workday integrations using Studio, Orchestrations, Core Connectors, EIB, RaaS, and REST/SOAP APIs.
• Manage data mapping, transformation, and validation processes across inbound and outbound integrations ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
• Oversee integration lifecycle management, including environment strategy, code promotion, testing (unit, regression, end-to-end), and production hypercare.
• Develop and maintain integration playbooks, reusable templates, and governance frameworks to standardize future efforts and reduce delivery time.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on Workday integration best practices and design patterns, collaborating with HR, IT, and business stakeholders.
• Prepare for and lead activities around Workday releases, including impact analysis, regression testing, and adoption of new integration or Extend features.
• Design and deliver scalable, automated, and reusable integration solutions that enable high system reliability and operational efficiency across the Workday ecosystem.

Role:
The Lead Software Engineer, Workday Integrations, will lead the successful delivery of Workday integration and Extend solutions. In this role, you will:
• Design and develop integrations leveraging Workday Studio, Orchestrations, EIB, Core Connectors, RaaS, and REST/SOAP web services to connect Workday with external platforms such as payroll providers, benefits administrators, and internal data services.
• Own integration architecture, configuration, and error-handling frameworks, ensuring consistency across global and multi-entity environments.
• Build, test, and deploy integration business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, and data transformations to support operational workflows.
• Establish and maintain integration documentation standards, including technical design documents, data mappings, and configuration guides to enable scale and knowledge sharing.
• Drive automation through Workday Extend applications and REST-based microservices to enhance usability and streamline processes.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of hands-on Workday integration experience, including Studio, Orchestrations, Core Connectors, EIB, RaaS, REST, and SOAP.
• Strong understanding of Workday data model and business processes across Multiple Workday Modules (HCM, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits, Payroll, and Security).
• 4+ years of experience with complex reports, calculated fields, and business process design.
• 3+ years of experience with data transformation, validation, and integration error handling.
• Proficient in XML, XSLT, JSON, XSD, and integration debugging techniques.
• Strong experience with API authentication, encryption, certificates (x509/PGP), and SFTP/data exchange frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Workday Extend or familiarity with developing custom apps that enhance Workday functionality.
• Experience leading technical design workshops, developing test strategies, and managing integration cutover activities.
• Prior experience working in global environments with complex integration landscapes.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional HR, IT, and security teams.
• Deep passion for Workday technology, automation, business problem-solving, and integration modernization.

All About You:
• Ability to analyze existing integration landscapes to identify technical debt related to performance, error handling, and scalability.
• Workday Integration or Studio certification preferred; Extend certification is a plus.
• Skilled in building relationships across HR and IT while influencing outcomes through technical credibility and expertise.
• Detail-oriented and structured, maintaining documentation, version control, and audit readiness for all integration assets.
• Curious and forward-looking — actively engages with Workday Community, monitors product releases, and proposes innovative integration solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with both technical and functional stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage complex technical projects, prioritize competing demands, and deliver high-quality results under deadlines.
• Collaborative leader comfortable working independently or in an agile team environment, driving results through influence and innovation.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
