ISS STOXX is actively hiring a QA SDET Lead for Gurgaon location.
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced QA SDET Lead to join our STOXX Index Engineering team in Gurgaon. You will lead quality assurance practices, build test automation frameworks, and ensure the reliability and performance of our index calculation and data processing systems.
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor QA engineers and SDETs, fostering a quality-first mindset across the organization.
Define and implement QA strategy, processes, and best practices for index calculation systems.
Establish quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms to track product quality.
Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate quality practices throughout the SDLC.
Conduct risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies for complex systems.
Test Automation
Design and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Python.
Implement BDD practices using Python frameworks (Behave, pytest-bdd).
Create automated test suites for functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Establish automation best practices and coding standards.
Performance Testing
Conduct load, stress, and scalability testing.
Analyze performance metrics and collaborate on optimization.
Establish performance baselines and SLAs.
Quality Processes
Champion shift-left testing and quality engineering practices.
Define test strategies for financial data processing systems.
Validate data quality, accuracy, and integrity in index calculations.
Participate in architectural reviews from quality perspective.
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in financial services, capital markets, or securities market indices
Experience with market data processing or financial instruments
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
ISTQB or similar testing certifications.
8+ years in software quality assurance and test automation.
3+ years in leadership role managing QA/SDET teams.
Experience in data-intensive domains.
Proven track record building test automation frameworks from scratch.
Technical Skills:
Programming & Automation
Advanced proficiency in Python for test automation and tooling development.
Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks (Behave, pytest-bdd, or similar)
Practical experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, Locust, K6)
REST API testing using requests, pytest, or similar libraries.
DevOps & Infrastructure
CI/CD platforms: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar
Version control with Git and collaborative development workflows
Strong SQL skills and experience testing data pipelines/ETL processes.
QA Mindset & Process
Deep understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and quality principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Knowledge of test design techniques and risk-based testing approaches
Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
