Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and world-class service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.
 

This position is located in the greater Boston, MA area, and the shift is from 8am-4:30pm EST on Tuesday-Saturday.

 

How will you make an impact? 

Provides work direction to and performs all duties of a Sr. Site Specialist, Site Specialist or Site Service Technician to ensure customer happiness.  Monitors workflow to optimize staffing and services for customers.  Acts as a liaison between customer, sales, suppliers, logistics and management using special system knowledge to ensure success of customer relationships. 

 

What will you do? 

Assists in coordinating the staff and workload to meet or exceed efficiency performance standards for Managed Services.  Provides functional supervision to team members by performing site coverage as needed.  May assist in the cross-training of associates and the training of new hires. 

 

Inventory Management & Material Support
Help manage material ordering and reconciliation by maintaining min/max or Kanban systems and ensuring FEFO compliance. Perform counts on staged cleaning agents and update planning and metric trackers. Contribute data for emergency material requests, potential safety incidents, work orders, gowning shortages, and planned or unplanned transfers into clean suites. Support the handling of raw materials, cleaning reagents, gowning supplies, and consumables, including sanitizing all items transferred into the cleanrooms. Ensure required materials and PPE are available for GMP cleaners before shift end and for GMP manufacturing teams and the training lab as needed.

Communication & Cross-Functional Support
Provide daily shift updates and communicate any issues observed. Participate in Manufacturing morning huddles as assigned and attend MTS morning and afternoon huddles each day. Offer dock support when needed and rotate to other sites occasionally for cross-training.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

Education: 

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate degree in a related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Military Service/Training in lieu of a degree may also be considered.

 

Experience: 

3+ years of progressive, proven experience required

Experience working in GMP & laboratory setting and International Air Transport Association (IATA)/ U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Goods certification preferred, knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements are also a plus.

  • Leadership abilities and interpersonal skills are required to lead and enhance team culture
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. This includes maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values, including confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Possesses strong analytical abilities to problem solve, make timely decisions, re-balance staff workloads, and coordinate multiple overlapping priorities, while functioning in a fast-paced work environment

 

Working Conditions: 

Requires the ability to lift, push, and pull 30–40 pounds consistently and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, including operation and use of pushcarts, pallet jacks, forklifts, and similar equipment. Regular standing or walking for prolonged periods is required. Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are present (penicillin, tetracycline, etc.); depending on the area, personal protective equipment may be required. Ability to work overtime as needed. Reliable transportation is required to travel between customer sites.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $23.04–$31.05.
