MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. State criminal background check, and federal, if applicable, as required for state department of health (e.g. PA DOH, OH DOH, MD DOH, WV DHHR) regulated areas based on physical work location.
EXPERIENCE:
1. One (1) year of patient registration or scheduling experience and/or 1 year of clinical experience.

1. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or Current National Certification as CMA

1. Monitors scheduling and registration activities in assigned area(s) to ensure completion of registration, collection, and scheduling duties; reporting potential issues as necessary.
2. Performs registration and scheduling duties including, but not limited to, obtaining demographic/billing/insurance information, preparing WVU Medicine standard consent form, collecting deposits/copayments/deductibles/patient liability payments, and scheduling incoming appointments.
3. Assists in training employees and educating staff on pertinent changes to their role.
4. Organizes daily tasks in appropriate priority to achieve optimal productivity, accountability, and efficiency.
5. Gathers statistics, complete assigned reports, monitor and record cash collection, and identify accounts that need resolution.
6. Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms; prepares for physician visit by obtaining initial information and vital signs.
7. Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and availability of supplies.
8. Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
9. Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
10. Assists provider during patient examinations and procedures.
11. Educates patients on follow up expectations.
12. Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
13. Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
14. Assists patients with completion of medical documentation.
15.Serves as main point of contact for back office and clinical staff.
16. Provides direction and guidance to staff M.A.’s and ACA’s.
17. Serves as the primary training facilitator for onboarding new M.A.’s and ACA’s.
18. Provides supervision to staff in absence of Supervisor/Manager.
19. Assists in scheduling of staff.
