Job Summary: Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Major Duties:

  • Incumbent is assigned to Marina/Outdoor Recreation. Performs and/or assists in the operation of the recreation activity. Based on established policies, incumbent carries out. assigned phases of designated activity applying an understanding of the interest and needs of program participants. Typical assignments may include: oversee sale of retail items associated with activities, assisting the managers with scheduling, personnel training, and ensuring full merchandise coverage, display, and sales accountability. Answers customer questions regarding differences between products to assist in selection, and maintains effective customer relations by providing assistance and responding to noncontroversial complaints. Ensures proper recording of time cards and provides comments on employee performance to managers. Participates in the preparation of inventory reports and ensures accountability of variances. Demonstrates procedures common to the activities, and instructs in the use of related equipment. May conducts instructional classes in the recreational area. Helps to plan and coordinate details of recreational activities and maintains related supplies. Assists in planning, scheduling and publicizing various activities to attract and motivate participants. Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations. Provides World Class. Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the manager or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Minimum one year experience in- a related, recreational activity. Retail experience highly preferred. Skill to demonstrate activities and use of related facility equipment. Skill to learn applicable MCCS policies and procedures. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
