Job Summary:
The Lead Radiation Therapy Technologist (RTT) provides clinical leadership and oversight of the radiation therapy team. This position serves as an advocate and go-to leader for the RTT staff, ensuring safe, accurate, and compassionate delivery of treatments. Lead RTT coordinates schedules, machine rotations, participates in leading daily huddles, contributes to the program committee, monitors billing audits, provides input on staff evaluations under the Department Manager’s supervision, and supports departmental operations and improvement initiatives.

Participates in all areas of patient care as it relates to radiation therapy. Prioritizes patient needs and communicates appropriately to patients and families. Administers ionizing radiation, performs accurate setups, and delivers treatments per physician prescription.
Directs therapist schedules, machine assignments, and daily rotations. Oversees staffing in coordination with Department Manager. Covers treatment machines for RTT lunches and breaks.
Maintains treatment records and performs billing audits, ensuring accuracy of charts and daily billing sheets.
Monitors and maintains treatment area to include cleanliness, linen and supplies stocking, and equipment quality checks.
Participates in daily huddles, program committee work, departmental activities, and provides input on annual staff evaluations
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:
Associate's Degree in Radiation Therapy required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT)
Two years minimum job-related experience required
Kentucky Xray Operators License
BLS Certification
Work Experience
