Job Description

As a Lead Engineer you will design, define and implement complex system requirements for customers and prepare studies and analyze existing systems. You will determine system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. You will coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system and will identify, analyze and resolve program support deficiencies. In this role you develop and recommend corrective actions while leading the development of complex infrastructure and mass transit solutions, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

You will report to the COE Engineering Manager and have a hybrid schedule working in Prague.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead, design, develop, and deliver Rockwell Automations PlantPAx DCS solutions and Rail Application projects, including SCADA, GIDS (Guideway Intrusion detection Systems), and ODS (Obstacle Detection Systems)..
  • Design, implementation, and testing of control system software including control modules, equipment modules, equipment phases, graphics, alarms, safety interlocks, etc.
  • Generating detailed design documents and qualification documents.
  • Ensure that systems and associated documents are designed in compliance with all relevant standards, including RAMS and SIL requirements.
  • Develop expertise and own libraries for Rail Applications.
  • Coordinate efforts for resources from the Global Engineering organization.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's in engineering or science with a focus on Automation & Control, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics.
  • 3+ years of project delivery experience in the infrastructure or mass transit sector.
  • Expert knowledge of Rail Applications (SCADA, GIDS, ODS).
  • Solid experience in PLC, HMI, SCADA is required.
  • Solid experience in the Rockwell Automation portfolio of products such as Studio5000 & FactoryTalk Software, especially FT View SE
  • Knowledge of RAMS (EN 50126) and SIL (IEC 61508, EN 50128, EN 50129) standards.
  • Solid knowledge of Hardware Design principles and electrical schematics
  • Languages: fluent English.
  • Legal authorization to work in the EU.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Experience delivering infrastructure or mass transit solutions.
  • Willingness to work & travel across EMEA when required. Approx. 20-40% of time.
