Lead Product Review Engineer (Liaison Engineer)

The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team is seeking a Lead Product Review Engineer (Liaison Engineer) for the T-7A Flight Test program located in Edwards AFB, CA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Apply broad knowledge of Boeing design and engineering principles

  • Lead others to analyze, conduct root cause analysis, and develop dispositions for design non-conformances

  • Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of aircraft

  • Provide on-site engineering support at the aircraft maintenance location. This includes, but not limited to the development of technical solutions, development of engineering data, and acting as a principle point of contact for internal and external customers

  • Provide steadfast technical support around diagnosing and resolving issues encountered in the aircraft maintenance operations, on time with high quality

  • Review defect and damage conditions; establish root cause and provide acceptable disposition instructions that are innovative, thorough and practical

  • Participate in status meetings and technical reviews, support monthly metrics development and submittals

  • Drive efficiency in operations by steadfast collaboration with design, manufacturing, and stress counterparts

  • Support trade studies, design improvements, and optimization efforts

  • Ensure customer compliance with Boeing standards

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 9+ years of experience with Material Review Board / Liaison Engineering (MRB / LE) Authority (including participating in Material Review Board and Integrated Product Team activities related to aircraft structures)

  • Willing to work extended hours, alternating shifts, holidays, and weekends to support customer’s needs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and problem-solving abilities

  • Experience interpreting and using engineering drawings and specifications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience interfacing with Operations and Engineering disciplines, as well as being able to work in a team environment or to work independently

  • Experience with military or commercial derivative aircraft: design, analysis, manufacturing, assembly, integration, test, delivery and fleet support

  • Experience with developing dispositions for aircraft non-conformances.

  • Experience with applying knowledge of design principles to assess and resolve product issues through the product lifecycle

  • Work effectively and cooperatively with team members, management, and other cross-departmental teams

  • Knowledge of Boeing and USAF Material Review Board processes such as AFMC ETAR 107, BPI-4517, BPI-2823 and BPI-6159.

  • Experience with MES, Teamcenter, IETM
