The Position


As a Process Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational processes of an organization to support business goals. You will evaluate the efficiency of workflow procedures, identify inconsistencies, and revise processing techniques as needed to improve deliverables and maximize productivity to achieve business goals. You will be responsible for training new employees, sharing best practices, and ensuring team members are qualified to perform their work. 

As a Process Lead, you will also motivate and provide guidance to team members, cultivating and reinforcing appropriate group values, norms, and behaviors, guided by Roche operating principles. You must have excellent communication and organizational skills and identify opportunities that will drive the business forward.


The Opportunity

Quality and Safety

  • Maintain the right to operate by ensuring all processes are performed safely and healthily; address and escalate unsafe hazards, and promptly report and investigate safety incidents or near misses.

  • Ensure compliance with the quality system, achieve quality objectives, and maintain audit readiness (OSHA, FAA, FDA, etc.); represent the team during audits and inspections.

  • Oversee the accuracy and completeness of procedures and instructions related to the receipt, quarantine, storage, and disbursement of materials in compliance with FDA, OSHA, FAA, QSR, ISO, GMP, MEEs, and Roche policies.

  • Coordinate and facilitate training completion for team members (e.g., NCRs, OJT, Operating Procedures, Manufacturing Work Instructions) while maintaining greater than 95% training compliance.

  • Maintain inventory accuracy and adherence to inventory control processes, such as TECO and cycle counts.

  • Assist in non-conformance report (NCR) investigations, reworks, and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Monitor, review, and initiate document changes, including creating or updating work instructions and operational procedures, collaborating with relevant functions as needed.

Production

  • Monitor, balance, delegate, and provide detailed direction to employees and contractors to achieve production goals and adhere to the production schedule.

  • Provides 20% to 40% line support to include but not limited to Receiving, material handling, building product/materials, formulating bulk solutions, facilitating material availability, SAP transactions/confirmations and packet review, audit processes, allocating resources, and protocol/validations.

  • Interfaces with highly complex systems and controls in a regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Ensures daily end-of-shift reports/pass-downs are completed to ensure proper communication and synergies between shifts and teams.

  • Ability to lead more than one production line. Coordinate the maintenance/calibration of equipment in their responsible areas.

Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure adherence to 6S, cycle times, and standard work; Identify and implement process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Facilitate and/or participate in Tier Meetings and staff meeting. 

  • Troubleshoots problems, engages appropriate support functions, and assists in implementing preventative measures.

  • Collect data, populate and trend daily metrics (e.g. Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery) to identify gaps and support operational excellence initiatives and improvements.
    Inadequate feedback to the Leader on employee performance for performance management purposes.

Teamwork and Collaboration

  • Proactively collaborate with peers in other shifts/functions to ensure daily targets are achieved. 

  • Provide feedback to the Leader on employee performance (contribution, attendance, quality, etc.) for performance management purposes.

  • Ensure successful onboarding of new employees and contractors. Participate in the interview process. Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • You have an Associates Degree

  • You have 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a GMP environment . Prefer previous experience leading teams or projects.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required

  • Proficient with Google products (e.g., Gmail, Sheets, Docs), ERP systems, and SAP, with strong organizational, planning, communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

  • Experienced in Lean/Continuous Improvement, capable of inspiring and influencing others, and giving/receiving feedback in a coaching style.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple tasks under competing timelines, and succeed in high-volume, fast-changing environments.

  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, exhibiting a high degree of initiative and strong time management.

  • Physically capable of standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, bending, crouching for 4+ hours daily, lifting 50 pounds, performing repetitive motions, and working around machinery and equipment.

  • Comfortable wearing required personal protective equipment depending on the work environment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, ear protection, etc.), while maintaining compliance with physical and safety conditions.

  • Essential position requiring punctual, reliable attendance, including weekends, holidays, and emergency situations, with accommodations available to meet physical function requirements.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson, AZ is 52,400.00 -  97,400.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
