We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and proactive Lead Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team and play a key role in delivering outstanding patient and client care.
As a natural leader with a compassionate and organised approach, you will lead by example — supporting, guiding, and developing your team to ensure every patient receives exceptional care and that the day-to-day running of the practice is smooth, efficient, and well-coordinated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by example: Deliver high-quality patient care while inspiring and guiding others to do the same.
  • Line management: Provide direct line management and mentorship to allocated members of the PCA team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Operational support: Collaborate closely with the nursing, clinical, and administrative teams to ensure the seamless daily running of the practice.
  • Collaborative working: Build strong working relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues, clinicians, and clients to maintain excellent standards of care and service delivery.
  • Patient care initiatives: Engage and lead Associates in delivering high-quality patient care initiatives alongside the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) and Clinical Director (CD).
  • Client experience: Contribute to an outstanding client journey by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Coaching & mentoring: Champion self-awareness, civility, and a positive workplace culture through supportive coaching, mentoring, and open communication.
  • Leadership in care: Ensure the highest levels of patient and client care are consistently achieved through active leadership and effective management of the nursing team.
  • Accountability: Promote a culture of accountability by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and supporting the team to take ownership of their responsibilities.
  • Flexibility: Work as part of a rotational schedule throughout the hospital, including weekends and night shifts as required, to ensure continuous high-quality care for our patients.

About You

  • Previous management or supervisory experience, or prior experience within the veterinary industry, is essential.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills with the ability to motivate and support others.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and understanding, with a proactive approach to teamwork and problem-solving.
  • Confident in supporting the daily coordination of patient care, workflow, and team duties within a busy practice.
  • Committed to professional growth and to supporting a culture of respect, collaboration, and excellence.

Salary Value:£27,931.55 per annum;
