WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Lead Material Planner is responsible for planning materials supporting our Footwear business for a large Sports alignment and Material Class. This role’s primary responsibility is the management of mid to long-range plan health, understanding the driving forces impacting the material forecast and both coordinating and communicating the recommended strategies to support on-time delivery. This role also supports setting and operationalizing material lead time strategies and serving as a Materials SME in key projects. This role will be balanced between tactical support of materials demand-supply management, while also partnering with the Global Materials Planning leadership team and cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement new strategies for a responsive, flexible materials supply chain that improves materials on-time delivery for pinnacle Footwear product.

This individual will be an important part of the Global Material Planning & Sourcing team working with our Materials Supply Chain (MatSC) partner groups, as well as functions external to MatSC.  Partnering within the Materials Planning & Sourcing ecosystem, this individual will develop and implement capabilities across the functions to meet goals across our key pillars of Responsiveness, Resiliency, and Sustainability.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

Leads, facilitates, and coordinates cross functionally to identify and resolve risks and opportunities across the Materials Plan in support our Finished Goods delivery for a large Sport and material class alignment.

  • Collaborate with upstream partners to provide clear, timely, materials demand signals for Footwear materials.
  • Analyze Footwear materials demand and capacity, executing mitigation processes to ensure on-time production of materials from key vendors.
  • Set and operationalize material lead time strategy in concert with materials and finished goods partners.
  • Coordinate and operationalize a cross-functional seasonal readiness offense for your Sport alignment and material class, in partnership with your supporting Sr Planner.
  • Represent Materials Planning & Sourcing as a subject matter expert (SME) at key cross-functional stakeholder engagements or special projects.

Partners with Materials Planning Director, Global Material Planning & Sourcing Leadership team to create future capabilities:

  • Develop and implement new strategies for responsive, flexible materials supply chain to drive on-time delivery of materials.
  • Collaborate with you Materials Planning & Sourcing leadership and cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for improvement in line with our Material SC strategy.
  • Identify, scope and partner with Tech & Analytics teams to develop new analytics and/or systems capabilities.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Supply Chain, Planning (Supply, Demand, Materials, etc.), Manufacturing and/or Logistics functions
  • Understanding of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) basics, Demand, Production and Capacity Management, including key metrics. Ability to interpret driving factors and implement corrective actions
  • Understanding of Manufacturing best practices and key metrics. Ability to evaluate and recommend improvements in manufacturing strategies to meet inventory and service objectives
  • Innovation mindset with a desire to continuously improve and challenge the status quo
  • Effective communication skills, including in-person, written and via phone
  • Effective presentation skills, both visual & oral
  • Experience in creating tools to support analytics of key business performance metrics
  • Experience working in a diverse, cross-functional environment and fostering a culture of belonging throughout
  • Results-oriented mentality for prioritizing work, managing upward and downward as necessary
  • Passion for Nike products and sport

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes (not necessarily Footwear or Apparel)
  •   Experience aligning cross-cultural, virtual teams
