The Role
Advanced Technical Support & Leadership
Act as an escalation point for L1 and L2 cloud support teams for complex issues in Azure and AWS.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and problem management for recurring or major incidents.
Ensure high availability and performance of cloud systems through proactive monitoring and tuning.
Provide technical governance and recommendations for infrastructure optimization and automation.
Collaborate with solution architects on cloud architecture design and implementation.
Cloud Administration & Optimization
Manage and optimize AWS and Azure resources including compute, storage, networking, and security components.
Perform cost analysis and optimization, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
Oversee backup, DR, and high-availability configurations for business-critical workloads.
Implement cloud security policies, IAM controls, and compliance measures.
Review and approve changes and deployments in alignment with organizational standards.
Automation, Integration & Innovation
Design and deploy automation scripts for operations using PowerShell, Python, or shell scripting.
Integrate monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Grafana) for visibility and proactive management.
Support CI/CD and DevOps practices through automation and orchestration tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, etc.).
Evaluate and implement new cloud services or solutions based on evolving project needs.
Service Improvement & Documentation
Drive continual service improvement (CSI) initiatives across the cloud operations function.
Maintain and update SOPs, knowledge base (KBase), and infrastructure documentation (AS-IS/TO-BE).
Participate in disaster recovery (DR) drills and ensure system recoverability per policy.
Mentor and train L1 and L2 engineers on advanced troubleshooting and cloud best practices.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
7+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure Management (Azure and AWS).
Strong knowledge of EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch (AWS) and VMs, VNets, Azure AD, Resource Groups, Azure Monitor (Azure).
Proven experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and DR strategy implementation.
Expertise in automation and orchestration tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
Hands-on experience with security compliance, patch management, and identity management.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with RCA preparation experience.
Working knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, and CSI).
Ability to coordinate with vendors, architects, and multiple internal teams for resolution and improvements.
