SUMMARY:

 

The Calculation Engine Team Lead role requires a leader in software projects who can apply standard procedures to solve internal and external business challenges, recommending improvements based on specialized expertise. Candidates must possess the ability to write efficient code for large data sets and complex mathematical problems, exercising independent judgment in problem-solving. The position demands proficiency in C# and .NET Core, along with expert-level skills in MS SQL and AWS services. A successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, optimize application performance, and stay updated with industry trends. The role also emphasizes effective communication with senior executives, cultural awareness, and the development of project and people management skills, ideally suited for individuals with 7-12 years of experience and relevant educational qualifications, including management experience.

Knowledge: 

  • Take a leadership role in software-related projects.
  • Utilize standard procedures and policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Develops solutions for identified internal and/or external business challenges; recommend product, process, or service improvements. Requires depth and specialized breadth of expertise in own area and knowledge of the related area.

Job Complexity:

  • Ability to understand and write efficient code that deals with extremely large data sets and complex mathematical formulas.
  • Ability to solve routine to highly complex problems with broad impact within their business area independently.
  • Exercise independent judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Works independently on or to guide others to solve unique and complex problems that have a road impact within their business area.
  • Work on issues where analysis of situation or data requires a review of relevant factors. 
  • Review results of design and development providing direction as needed. Considered to have mastered one or more programming languages.
  • Work on issues where analysis of data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives 

  

Tech Skills:

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using C# and .NET Core.
  • Implement and manage AWS services including SQS, SNS, S3, ECS, and EC2.
  • Expert level MS SQL skills required to write efficient queries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Culture:

  • Communicates complex concepts, anticipates potential objections, and persuades senior executives to adopt a different point of view
  • Proactively invests time to build and live the culture. Supports and develops others' cultural awareness.
  • Developing Project and People management skills; how to create an inclusive team, bias awareness and management of bias, how to be an effective coach

Experience:

  • 7 - 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor, Master, or similar advanced degree and related experience preferred. Mngt or Team Lead experience preferred.
