WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead the end to end efforts and team responsible for developing a new Army “Smart Helmet” that combines cutting edge multi spectral sensors, compute, thermal management, and ballistic protection.
  • Be responsible for the design and qualification of a novel lightweight ballistic shell which will serve as the foundation of the platform.
  • Solve hardware related problems across design and development, analysis and testing, manufacturing, optimization and launch.
  • Prototype and evaluate efforts that involve a high degree of autonomy, meeting stringent ballistic requirements while balancing human factors and comfort with packaging needs.
  • Work with cross functional teams include software, product, design and others to build a best in class product that serves to protect the people using it.
  • Push the boundaries of what is possible in this space but never compromise in quality and safety standards that protect our soldiers.
  • Be driven by your expertise and curiosity to evolve and improve the status quo of this space.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s of Science, Masters or PhD in an engineering field
  • 10+ years Hardware Engineering experience with demonstrated progression in role and breadth across various hardware domains
  • You have experience with military specifications and wearable systems, coupled with the curiosity to push the boundaries of what is possible in that space
  • Understanding the properties and behavior of materials (e.g., Kevlar, carbon fiber, ceramics) used in ballistic protection
  • Ability to perform finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate helmet performance under impact and stress conditions
  • Knowledge of techniques for fabricating and assembling materials, including molding, laminating, and machining
  • Designing for comfort, fit, and usability to ensure the helmet is effective for prolonged wear while maintaining protection
  • Understanding how temperature, humidity, and other environmental factors affect materials and performance
  • CAD skills (any platform) and ability to make high quality engineering drawings
  • Must be a U.S. person & eligible to attain a U.S. Security Clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with ceramic and composite armor technologies and ballistics
  • Versed in Firearms and Firearm Safety, either in a military or civilian capacity
  • Experience with NX/Teamcenter, including FEA extensions
  • Experience with a military qualification program and a deep understanding of MIL-STD requirements
US Salary Range
$191,000$253,000 USD

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
