Lead Front End Engineer, CoCounsel AI Drafting

MEX-Distrito Federal-Reforma 26 Full time

Ready to architect user interfaces that make AI-powered legal drafting feel intuitive for attorneys - while simultaneously building developer experiences that make future engineers say, "whoever built this loved their craft"?

Join CoCounsel AI Drafting as our Lead Front End Software Engineer, where you'll deliver the customer-facing interface for AI-powered legal drafting while leading technical excellence across our React/Angular MFE ecosystem. This isn't about just implementing designs or maintaining the status quo - it's about architecting both the user experience AND the developer experience, leveraging AI tooling to amplify team velocity, and treating technical debt as strategic improvement opportunities. You'll work directly with the best and brightest at Thomson Reuters, collaborating across Intelligence, Content Integration, Document Generation, and Customer Experience teams.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Lead Front End Software Engineer, you will:

  • Deliver the customer-facing interface for AI-powered legal drafting features - building responsive, performant, accessible user experiences that make complex AI capabilities feel intuitive and natural for legal professionals
  • Champion AI-powered development tools that amplify team velocity and code quality, while conducting continuous "repository retros" to make the codebase easier for future engineers
  • Navigate and optimize our React/Angular mixed-stack MFE ecosystem, making strategic decisions about when to consolidate, refactor, or rebuild while ensuring seamless integration
  • Set technical standards for UI implementation quality, performance, accessibility, and maintainability - leading by example with code that other engineers study to learn best practices
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to design optimal API contracts, work with Product to challenge requirements that would create poor user experiences, and partner with Design to push beyond static mockups when AI capabilities enable better experiences
  • Build tooling, templates, and developer-friendly abstractions that reduce friction and cognitive load for team members, documenting not just what the code does but why decisions were made
  • Champion continuous improvement in how the team builds and ships features, representing frontend engineering perspectives in architectural discussions

  • Proficiency in React, Angular, or both, with understanding of their different strengths and appropriate use cases
  • Experience with Micro Frontend (MFE) architecture and managing complex
  • Track record of using AI development tools to accelerate work and improve code quality (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar)
