About the role

Are you passionate about advancing simulation capabilities and driving innovation in product development? As our Lead Engineer – Simulation, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and integrating simulation expertise across R&D. You’ll lead a connected network of simulation specialists, champion best practices, and ensure simulation activities are embedded in our product development and problem-solving processes.

You’ll be the technical authority for simulation methods, tools, and processes, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and innovative solutions that support our global business.
 

What you will bring to the role:
 

Lead Simulation Excellence:

  • Act as the technical authority for simulation within R&D, leading the development and integration of simulation capabilities across domains such as Structural FEA, Thermal, CFD, Particle Tracking, Optics, Electronics, and Dynamic (NDT).

  • Build and nurture a matrix organisation of simulation specialists, connecting skills and expertise across teams and geographies.
     

Drive Best Practices and Innovation:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimise simulation workflows, standards, and toolsets.

  • Champion the adoption of advanced simulation methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure simulation supports product development, innovation, and effective problem-solving.
     

Mentor and Upskill:

  • Develop and deliver training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to build simulation expertise across R&D.

  • Establish and maintain simulation standards, guidelines, and best practices.
     

Collaborate and Influence:

  • Work closely with internal teams, external partners, suppliers, and global colleagues to leverage and expand simulation capabilities.

  • Support project teams with technical guidance, troubleshooting, and advanced simulation expertise.

About You:

  • You hold an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline, or have equivalent experience.

  • You bring 7+ years of experience in engineering simulation across multiple domains.

  • You have deep expertise in at least two simulation areas (e.g., FEA, CFD, Thermal, Optics, Electronics, Dynamic/NDT).

  • You’re experienced with leading simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, Abaqus, STAR-CCM+).

  • You have a proven ability to build and lead technical communities or matrix organisations.

  • You’re a strong problem solver with excellent analytical skills.

  • You’re an effective communicator, collaborator, and mentor.

  • You have experience developing and implementing simulation standards and best practices.

  • You have a track record of supporting product development through advanced simulation.
