Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Management Analyst within our Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of capital markets, banking, and financial products and services. A trusted partner to our clients, we provide corporate and transactional banking, commercial real estate lending and servicing, investment banking, equity and fixed income solutions including sales, trading, and research capabilities to corporate, commercial real estate, government, and institutional clients across the globe.

Data Management: Covers jobs that drive oversight, governance, and management of critical data to support business needs, initiatives, and strategies. Consult with data product, data integrity, technology, and business partners to set standards, policies and practices for data flow, data framework, data access, documentation, quality, and remediation.

This role supports the execution and governance of CIB’s Data Management Program, with a focus on partnering with Controllers, Risk, and related business units. The CIB Data Management team provides expertise in data strategy, supports the development of streamlined data environments, and delivers data advisory and management services to internal business partners. The team is engaged in business-sponsored transformation initiatives and regulatory efforts, with a strong emphasis on risk and control.

The Lead Data Management Analyst will collaborate with CIB business units, Controllers, Risk, Finance, and Operations to identify, articulate, and deliver data solutions that enable business initiatives and mitigate risk. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the CIB business, data domains, and a strong background in Controllers and/or Risk functions. Familiarity with Data Management Policy requirements is expected.


In this role, you will:

  • Organize and lead complex companywide initiatives to ensure that data quality is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes
  • Oversee analysis and reporting in support of regulatory requirements
  • Identify and recommend analysis of data quality or integrity issues
  • Evaluate data quality metrics and data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of data governance standards and procedures
  • Identify new data sources and develop recommendations for assessing the quality of new data
  • Lead project teams and mentor less experienced staff members
  • Recommend remediation of process or control gaps that align to management strategy
  • Serve as relationship manager for a line of business
  • Consult with and provide recommendations to senior management regarding assessments of the current state of data and metadata quality within area of assigned responsibility
  • Represent client in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to coordinate and drive collaboration on solution design and remediation execution
  • Support data governance for CIB Data, working with Application Business Owners (ABOs), Product Managers, Technology teams, Controllers, and Risk partners to implement data control strategies.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of data controls, identifying gaps or deficiencies and supporting remediation efforts.
  • Provide guidance and training to ABOs, Product Managers, and technology teams on data control requirements and best practices, ensuring alignment with Data Management Policy and Procedures.
  • Collaborate with Data Management team members to support companywide data governance strategies.
  • Represent CIB in cross-functional groups focused on governance tools and risk mitigation.
  • Proactively identify and escalate emerging data control risks, especially those impacting critical regulatory reports.
  • Evaluate data quality metrics and audits to benchmark and improve data quality.
  • Partner with business and functional groups to coordinate solution design and remediation execution


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relationship management or project experience with business, Functional Groups, and technology partners to achieve shared objectives.
  • Solid working knowledge of one or more of the following: Controllers/financial reporting, regulatory reporting, credit risk, counterparty risk, capital markets, or investment banking.
  • Experience supporting or leading initiatives that elicit, synthesize, and document business requirements, conduct analysis, and design solutions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Basel, Dodd-Frank, BCBS 239, or similar.
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex information to a range of audiences and build consensus among stakeholders.
  • Strong control mindset and risk awareness.
  • Ability to prepare and present communications to senior audiences.
  • Effective conflict management and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and a client-centric focus.
  • Experience collaborating with a wide range of business and functional areas.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, demonstrating initiative and accountability.
