Program Summary

KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 14 countries.

Job Summary

The Senior Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) is responsible for performing advanced inspections, maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and performance testing on emergency vehicles in accordance with NFPA standards. This role requires expertise in heavy vehicle maintenance for commercial and military firefighting vehicles and equipment. The position ensures operational readiness and compliance with safety and quality standards while mentoring junior technicians and promoting a culture of safety and teamwork.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, replacements, and rebuilds of vehicle components and assemblies.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical equipment including trucks, automobiles, diesel engines, and firefighting apparatus.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained according to NFPA and organizational requirements.
  • Utilize Computerized Equipment Management Systems to monitor and control maintenance activities.
  • Advise operators on proper equipment operation and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Train new or less experienced mechanics and develop skills of current team members.
  • Monitor equipment operation at job sites to ensure adherence to maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Order and maintain adequate inventory of parts and supplies for timely repairs.
  • Promote safety awareness, Quality Improvement Processes (QIP), and teamwork across the department.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; specialized training in diesel mechanics and equipment repair.
  • EVT Certification through NFPA or equivalent military training.
  • Thorough knowledge of emergency vehicle systems, field service equipment operation, and maintenance practices.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and computerized maintenance systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or vocational training in automotive or diesel technology.
  • Advanced EVT certifications (Level II or III) or equivalent military qualifications.
  • Experience with commercial and military firefighting vehicles and specialized equipment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and procurement processes.
  • Leadership experience in training and mentoring technical staff.
