Job Summary
As a Heavy Truck Driver, you will transport large volumes of materials to assigned locations.
Roles and Responsibilities
Deliver up to 30 tons of goods via a heavy truck, sometimes over intercity routes.
Load and unload cargo.
Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
Follow all applicable traffic laws.
Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects.
Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
Keep a log of their activities.
Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
Keep truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking.
As required, transport hazardous materials.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of directly related experience.
Must have a valid CDL.
Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
