Role Summary

This is an exciting time to join the Launch Excellence Team!  Launches are important: There are 20+ assets/indications with ongoing ph3 studies, and additional pipeline assets approaching DP3, and potential business development across PC, SC and Oncology with cumulative high double-digit billions of peak year revenue.  Launches are hyperconnected: End to end commercial launch planning sits at the nexus of clinical trials, portfolio decisions, market research, regulatory and competitive intelligence, policy changes and more. Launch planning is central: Commercial launch plans are foundational, cascading into multi-layered commercial and cross-functional initiatives across the enterprise and into sequence of country launches. You Only Launch Once (#YOLO) :  It must be done right the first time. 80% of the launches follow first 6-months uptake trajectory in their entire brand life cycle.

Launch Excellence is a team of experienced launch leaders and brand marketers, providing strategic thought partnership and frameworks to build end-to-end strategic plan, generic blueprints for Global, US and International markets for operational planning, tools and resources aligned to launch best practices, external benchmarks and guidance for resource allocation across launch initiatives, analog case studies for prioritized launch situations and beyond.

The Launch Excellence Director role is an opportunity to catalyze the future of launch excellence at Pfizer, which currently include more than 20 assets and indications anticipating launch, in addition to those potentially come from pipeline and acquisitions.

You will sit at the intersection of global launch strategy, Global/US/International operational readiness, and cross-functional leadership, supporting launch readiness for portfolio of assets across Primary Care, Specialty Care and Oncology, driving continuous improvement in launch processes and platforms globally.

The Launch Excellence Dir will report to the Launch Excellence Lead within the Global Marketing organization. The role is accountable for mainly three core categories across the entirety of the launch portfolio i) strategic enablement for launches, ii) implementation excellence and iii) cross-functional leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Enablement for Launches

  • Ensure global cross-functional launch readiness through supporting the development of foundational launch stage gates (e.g Brand Strategy/OGSM, Brand Positioning, Market Development.) for priority launch assets across Onc, PC, SC in partnership with Launch Excellence Leads.
  • Onboard newly formed Global and US launch teams to launch operations capability and facilitate the development of cross functional launch operational plan, including goal alignment and Digital Launch Planning Platform (DLPP) deployment.
  • Engage in time-bound special projects for priority launch global strategic planning e.g competitive scenario planning, pre /post launch measurement framework building
  • Enhance launch planning effectiveness and efficiency by regularly evolving launch operations capability, tools and platforms to improve the strategic fabric of Launch Excellence offerings

Implementation Excellence

  • Maintain an engaged launch community across Global and International by actively managing Global Launch Operation Leads (LOL) and International Local Launch Excellence Leads (LEL) forums and community networks
  • Lead the launch community best practice sharing program Launch Learnings Exchange, ensuring key learnings are being shared, recognized and leveraged across Global, US, and International.
  • Lead the efforts to enhance Launch Excellence Team visibility and the accessibility to resources, through actively managing LE Portal, community comms and developing engagement plans with key stakeholders
  • For International BU, partner and support cascade down of Global-level capabilities for international implementation, identify non-obvious gaps across different regions and therapeutic areas, and proactively bring forth solutions that will enhance Launch Excellence across the enterprise

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Own and maintain the Global, US and International priority / agile county cross-functional launch operational readiness blueprints in partnership with Commercial/marketing, CMO, Medical, Regulatory, PGS, Digital, Ops and other relevant functions.
  • Navigate within the Global, US, ICO and EMCO organizations, support the implementation of Launch Excellence initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing or related fields.
  • Strong subject matter expertise in the core fundamentals of strategic marketing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Track record of demonstrating courage and confidence in speaking up
  • Track record of strong networking and working collaboratively across functions and geographies
  • Executive presence and demonstrated ability to effectively influence senior leaders and colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Lead cross-functional and cross-business projects and initiatives, identifying risks and removing roadblocks to enable the teams to achieve successful delivery
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong project and time management and organizational skills
  • Discretion and trustworthiness in dealing with confidential information
  • Ability to manage and coach peers and agile teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree.
  • Experience with global product launches across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Role requires flexibility to work with US time-zone on regular basis

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169,700.00 to $282,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
